Chapter 51 Kids Don't Get Special Treatment
Gary nodded. "So, Daddy's the same."
I hugged him gently. "Do you get it, Gary?"
"Yes."
"That's good. I always knew that you're a very perceptive kid. In the future, if you have anything to say or share, always remember to tell your daddy nicely. Don't keep it to yourself."
Gary replied obediently, "Alright. Got it."
Very quickly, I spotted Charlie sitting not far away. He gritted his teeth as he watched me unhappily with reddened eyes.
I tried to resist, but in the end, I couldn't help but ask Gary, "What happened to Charlie?"
Gary turned to look at Charlie, who had turned around. Charlie folded his arms across his chest and pouted.
After a moment's hesitation, Gary met my gaze and answered, "No one has picked him up from school yet."
"No one has come to pick him up from school?"
"Yeah. The kindergarten teacher usually has to accompany him for some time before someone comes to pick him up."
Lately, Charlie had been among the last batch of students to leave the kindergarten.
