Suddenly, a loud crash sounded.
The car skidded on the road, losing control for a moment before quickly correcting itself and coming to a halt at the roadside.
Lillian was tossed around, dazed for a moment. When she regained her senses and looked up, she collided with Luke's astonished yet joyful gaze.
His hands on the steering wheel were trembling lightly, but he still pretended to remain calm, asking, "What did you say? I didn't catch that."
Lillian looked at the band-aid on his hand, her heart softened, and she smiled, saying, "You're more important than the result."
Luke's eyes instantly lit up. Before he could speak, Lillian added, "Having a friend who is always there for you and open with you is much more important than any betrayal."
She stressed the word "friend" heavily.
