Chapter 5
When did he pass by and why was he saving this woman like a prince? Many questions were running around his mind, but he decided to ask the most important question, "Hey, wait a minute, isn't this girl Mr. Su's granddaughter?"
Wendy had been dreaming all night, about her and Brian. She dreamt of the time when they first met in college.
The picture was obviously warm and beautiful, but Wendy knew that everything was just a dream.
"If I didn't say that, would you still marry me?"
When Brian said this cruelly, the coldness on his face crushed all her disguised strength.
"Brian... Brian..." As she was muttering his name, Wendy slowly opened her eyes.
Her head felt like it was getting crushed by a steam roller. She could feel her pulse in her temples.
She stretched out her hand to rub her temples, but her expression was still dumbfounded.
She saw a ceiling that was different from the usual modern style of her home.
Wendy was stunned for about ten seconds, only to realize that this wasn't her home.
She sat up from the bed with a loud groan, everything started to spin. She closed her eyes for a long time before opening them again.
She remembered that she was drinking with Ruby in a bar last night.
The both of them got a little drunk.
She called Dr. Lu, who secretly admired Ruby, to take her away, and she went to the bathroom.
She then remembered a pair of slender and powerful hands.
Wendy vaguely remembered that she almost fell, but she got caught by a man who smelled like tobacco.
The last thing she could remember was seeing his calm and collected eyes.
Wendy frowned and she quickly checked her body. Fortunately, the clothes she had worn last night were still on her body, and she didn't feel strange. The man who helped her wasn't a bad person with ulterior motives.
Wendy hurriedly got up and went directly to the bathroom.
A brand new dress had been neatly placed on the sink. She also saw a pair of underwear on top of it, she felt grateful, but was a little embarrassed. She then took a quick shower. She put her dirty clothes in a plastic bag, as she was looking down she saw a suit that was covered in vomit on the ground.
It was an expensive custom-made suit, and she could see the luxury of this suit at a glance.
She was drunk last night, but she still remembered that the person who caught her was also wearing a suit. She thought that the vomit came from her.
She found a sticky note on the bedside table, it was right next to her bag. It told her to leave her phone number and to take the suit to the dry-cleaners. She did exactly as the note instructed her to do, after all it was her vomit and this was an expensive looking suit.
While passing through the lobby, Wendy went to the front desk to ask the receptionist.
"Ma'am, I'm terribly sorry, Mr. 1048 is a VIP guest at our hotel. I know he helped you out last night, but I'm not allowed to tell you anything. Do you have anything else I could help with?"
Wendy already had a feeling she wouldn't get any information, but she was still disappointed.
"It's okay, thank you."
She had to wait until he took the initiative to contact her.
Wendy left the hotel and took a taxi back to the villa.
As soon as she arrived in, Irma dragged her in anxiously. "Where did you go last night? You didn't pick up your phone, and Ruby's phone was turned off. You made me and Brian so worried. I was afraid you had an accident. Last night, Brian drove out to find you all night, but he didn't come back until morning. We were waiting for you in the living room."
Wendy paused as she was changing her shoes and she looked over at the living room.
Brian was sitting on the sofa in the living room with his eyes closed. He had dark rings under his eyes and his face was pale from exhaustion.
Wendy changed her shoes, she looked back at Irma slowly, and said softly, "Mom, Ruby was in a bad mood last night, so I went to accompany her. I turned my phone on silent, so I didn't hear your calls. I promise it won't happen again."
Irma breathed a sigh of relief as she put her hand on her chest. She then said with a concerned tone, "Brian was looking for you all night. If you're not tired, you should cook him some porridge. I didn't sleep well last night, so I won't be able to make something for him when he wakes up. He must be starving."
Before Wendy could answer, she turned and walked towards the second floor.
Wendy stood in the hallway and hesitated for a long time before she slowly walked to the sofa.
Brian was asleep, his suit jacket was put aside casually. His hair was a little messed up, but it gave him a touch of softness.
Brian's eyebrows furrowed suddenly and there was a frown on his face. She looked around and found a thin blanket on the chair next her. She knelt down and carefully draped the blanket over him.
His frown loosened and his expression went back to normal.
Wendy breathed a sigh of relief without even realizing it. Suddenly, the phone Brian had in his hand vibrated.
His brows furrowed again, which made her brows furrow as well. After hesitating for a little bit, she picked up the phone and walked over to the kitchen.
The phone showed an unfamiliar number. Wendy thought about it, but she decided not to answer it.
