Chapter 2

Heat. That's all Eliza could feel at the moment. "Jake." She weakly shook her head, reaching out, trying to grasp the figure before her. Yet, everything in front of her became blurry. The dazzling, tantalizing lights of all colors filled her eyes, leaving nothing but hues of all shades. Her body felt as if it was floating on a cloud, light and drifting. In the blink of an eye, it felt like someone was pulling her down into the depths of the ocean. She hung onto the figure next to her, not wanting to sink into the dark seabed. The soft wall lamp turned on. Xander pushed the door open and stepped in. The light shone onto his face, his features were chiseled, stern, and emotionless. Below his thick eyebrows were a pair of dark, profound eyes. Scattered women's clothes were strewn across the floor, causing him to frown. His cold gaze then shifted onto the snow-white round bed. The woman's waist-length hair spread out like flowing water, messy, tangled up. "Ding Ding…" His phone rang. “Older brother, enjoy your birthday present; the bill has been settled,” The sound of Max's giggling voice came from the other end of the line. This younger brother, barely in his twenties, always had all sorts of peculiar ideas. For instance, he mentioned that he would gift him a tremendous surprise for his birthday this year. It turned out to be a woman! Displeased, he walked to the bedside, scooped up the woman, and soon to throw her out of the door. Xander wasn't one to touch just any woman. These women, who could be bought with money, weren't worth his attention. Just as he opened the door, Max sent a message: "All natural, untouched. Brother, don't let her delicate nature sway you!" Xander impatiently hung up the phone, shrugged off his suit and tossed it aside. Loosening his tie with one hand, he walked over to the liquor cabinet and poured himself a small glass of red wine. Eliza slid down the wall and ended up sitting near the door. The intense heat almost seemed to be burning her... She stretched her hand, vigorously pinching her thigh. The strength she used was such that it even made Xander frown. Without a doubt, this was the doing of that boy. Something was definitely off with this woman. Yet, he wondered, how much money did this woman receive... Was she genuine? Natural? With a disdainful sneer, he stood up, briskly walked over to the door, and roughly dragged Eliza towards the bathroom. In a small pool of about ten square feet, the emerald water was gently rippling. A tassel crystal lamp hung on the right wall, filling the room with a soft, radiant light. He tossed Eliza into the small pool, the sound of splashing water echoed. The cool water startling Eliza, causing her to sober up a bit. She raised her head, seeing a tall figure standing by the pool, his back toward the light, his expression indiscernible. She blinked, reaching her hand to her right ear. Her hearing aid was gone! Xander looked at her in her confused state, coldly asking, "How much were you paid?" His voice reverberated in Eliza's ears, it was blurry and chaotic. She frowned, standing up in the water, trying to see him clearly. A wave of splashes, her thin, white silk nightdress was completely clinging to her.
