Chapter 4
Aaron then raised the microphone again and yelled toward the entrance, "Where are the security guards? Come in!"
A dozen security guards wearing Gibson Corporation's badges came rushing into the room. Following his command, they quickly closed in and surrounded me.
At the same time, Aaron stepped down from the stage. However, he was too timid, only daring to stand behind the security guards around six feet away from me.
"Are you trying to lay a hand on me, Mr. Wembley? Don't forget that I'm not divorced yet. Aren't you worried that Ms. Gibson would blame you for this?" I asked.
Aaron threw his head back and laughed. "I knew you'd try to hide behind Ms. Gibson. Fortunately, I was well prepared."
He then took his phone out and gave Kiara a call in front of everyone. As soon as the call was connected, he smirked and handed the phone to me. "Ms. Gibson has something to tell you."
Kiara's voice sounded from the other end of the call. "I'm divorcing you, Felix!"
I replied emotionlessly, "From the way you're talking, it seems like you've found a replacement, huh?"
I could feel Kiara's agitation even through the phone. "Just tell me how much you want. You can name a price as long as you agree to the divorce."
She didn't answer my question directly, but I wasn't in a hurry. After all, it took time to slowly wear someone down. "Don't bother paying me. I believe it won't be long before the Gibsons fall."
Suddenly, my tone turned cold. "I only want to know one thing—who the hell had the nerve to step in and try to steal my wife?"
Kiara scoffed when she heard the anger in my voice. "You're not worthy of knowing his name. But I can tell you this—he's from Jygen City. He's someone you'll never be able to reach, no matter how hard you try."
I almost couldn't contain my laughter. It wouldn't be hard for me to find out who he was if he came from the same place as me.
I couldn't help but wonder who the mystery man was. He truly was insane to even dare to steal my wife.
Before I could reply, Aaron snatched the phone back. "That's enough. What could you do even if Ms. Gibson told you his name? I suggest you just take off your clothes quietly—at least you'd still get compensation. Wouldn't that be an easy transaction for someone like you, who lives off others?"
Despite his constant provocation, I didn't confront him. Instead, I held back time and again. It wasn't because I was afraid of him, but I wanted to figure out who was behind all of this.
Now that the truth had come to light, I no longer had to tolerate him.
"That's enough!" I glanced around the room. "I can see that the party isn't going to happen today, so I'm giving everyone two options. Those who knew what's good for them should leave now, and I'll consider those who remained my enemies. And as for my enemies, I never hold back against them."
As soon as I spoke, the staff around me burst out laughing.
"Have you heard him talking? This pretty face is even giving us options now. How laughable!"
"Do you really think you're still the manager, Felix?"
"We all heard the voice on the call earlier. Even Ms. Gibson has abandoned you, so what gives you the right to stand here and talk like that?"
