1 Mate　　

Anna POV 　　“I King Aiden of Hawkins Town no longer wants you as my wife. This wedding is cancelled.” On hearing those words, the people gasped in shock. 　　“Aiden!” Katherine knelt down in front of him with tears but he pushed her away. “Please don’t do this to me.” 　　“It is such a shame that you have been having an affair secretly with this man.” He pointed towards the man amongst the crowd. “I no longer want you as my wife.” 　　After that, he stormed out of the church. I glanced at Katherine and she glared at me hard. I didn’t need to be told before walking out of the church and followed King Aiden. 　　It was midnight and the rain poured throughout the land of Hawkins. I stepped out of the royal carriage and went into the castle, making my way through the long corridors. I was worried and anxious about what happened earlier. 　　In the dim light, I watched the maids looked at me like I was a piece of trash. It was as if my existence angered them. This all began when Katherine started treating me badly. She was the future Queen of this village and my elder sister. 　　My expression turned into relief when my eyes landed on the figure standing in the shadows. It was the Lycan King of this Town, Aiden. 　　He was dressed in a long black coat and black gloves. His hands were tucked into his pocket as he watched me with keen eyes. 　　He had sharp jawline which is sharp enough to cut through a glass. His eyes as dark as the night sky, stared back at me. He had olive coloured skin which looked radiant under the candle lights. 　　His black hair was damp and messy and I could see some drops of water falling on his face. The coat he was wearing was soaked with the rain water. 　　Taking a step closer, I spoke up. “Your highness.” 　　His brows furrowed and he looked at me with narrowed eyes. “Haven’t I warned you to stop addressing me that way? Call me by my name!” 　　I swallowed hard but the anger that was brewing inside me made my skin boil with rot rage. 　　“What was the reason for what you did back then?” I paused before taking another step to scold him more. “Do you have any idea what the people thought of Katherine? They called her name’s all because of your actions!” 　　Right now, I didn’t care if he was the Lycan King. I was more concerned about the feelings of my sister even though our relationship was rough. As much as I hated her for what she had done to me, there was a part of me who still loves her. 　　She was always proud of herself ever since her relationship with King Aiden began. She was rude, cruel and always throwing arrogance words to people lower than her. 　　Having no parents, I craved for love from her but she treated me the same way she treats the others. I had no one to talk to and would stay in my room alone all the time. 　　“What she did was wrong but she has realized her mistakes. I don’t know how far this argument between the both of you would go but seeing what you did back there, I think you should go back and continue the wedding ceremony.” 　　Katherine and Aiden has been in a relationship for the past three months. Everyone was hoping the wedding would go on in full swing but not until a man came out to obstruct the wedding, claiming that Katherine was his mate. This led to an endless argument as the man stated that he would not let Katherine marry King Aiden. 　　Out of anger, he walked out of the wedding ceremony. 　　“And do what?” 　　“Your highness, you might not be her mate but today is your wedding ceremony. She is your Queen you should go back and continue the wedding, please.” 　　King Aiden rolled his eyes. “I forbid to marry your sister after the man claimed to be her mate. They have been seeing each other for some time now, don’t you understand?” 　　“Would you forgive me if I say I already found my mate too? Someone I have loved since the first time I set my eyes on her?” I frowned at his words. What did he mean he found his mate? When? If he found his mate why then did he agreed to marry Katherine? My brows furrowed with anger as I looked at him. 　　“What are you talking about?” I frowned deeply. 　　“I already found my mate. A long time ago but I have been quiet because I didn’t want to ruin my relationship with Katherine. But now that she ruined the relationship herself, maybe it is time to confess my feelings to my mate.” He smiled. 　　I looked at him not understanding what he was saying. A mate? Since when? 　　“There is no much time. Why are you treating Katherine like this? She is still in the church waiting for you? Everyone is still there.” 　　“No!” He shook his head. “I refuse to marry someone who already knew about her mate. Don’t you understand that she has been seeing him for some time now?!” 　　“You should forgive her, please. She still loves you!” I pleaded but King Aiden refused to forgive her. 　　I turned around, frustrated. How would I be able to make him go to the ceremony with me? How? Katherine would make my life a living hell if I don’t solve the mess she created for herself. 　　When I turned around to ask him about something, he crashed his lips on mine. 　　I raised my hands to push him away from him but he caught both wrist and swirled me around, making me hit my back against the hard pillar. 　　My eyes grew wide with how he kissed me suddenly. He kissed me softly with his warm thin lips. Every movement of his tongue in my mouth sent a shiver through my back. 　　I didn’t expect Aiden to kiss me. Why was he kissing me? And why was he holding my wrist like that? 　　My heart began to pound so fast in my chest. He used one hand to hold both wrist and placed the other hand on my waist, pulling me closer. 　　His hand on my waist, slowly moved upward to my neck and he tilted it to a better position. I wanted to push him and away and scream for help but with his strong hold on me, I could feel goose bumps forming on my skin. 　　There was no escape for me as my back was resting on the hard pillar. With the intensity of the kiss, I felt my body getting hot. I was no longer feeling cold and for some odd reasons I felt ashamed for allowing him kiss me. Was he this shameless?! How disgusting of a man like him! The Lycan of this pack has no shame! 　　When he pulled away, I was already breathless. He released my hand and I placed it on his chest to push him away. He looked down at me with his dark eyes. 　　“Mate.” Came his voice and before I could react, he kissed me again.
