CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR

Two days had passed since Aiden's unwanted visit to Greyhound. Two days had passed since he had staked a claim on her, demanding she be returned to him. Ruby felt a shiver run down her spine as she stood on the balcony connected to her room. Her heart pounded in her chest—in unison with the seconds that ticked by, slowly nearing the awful fate her presence had brought on Noah and his people. Guilt had become her companion since—clawing away her mind, filling her with dread of the brutal event that drew near. Her wolf remained calm but occasionally grew antsy for the day Aiden would be put in his place and hopefully defeated by the man she had come to love. As if on cue, Ruby watched Noah's car roll down the driveway before coming to a stop. Her insides became mush as she watched him step out of the car before running a hand through his hair. As if feeling her eyes on him, he looked up at her, and Ruby could feel her breathing stop. She felt terrible for having such sensual emotions
