Chapter 11

"Your visa has been processed and mailed to the address you provided. Please check for it in the next few days," the agent informed. A tear slipped down Savannah's cheek. "That's good." Soon, she would be free from everything that had tied her to this place. While Wyatt was busy handling some work at the hospital, Savannah quietly made her way back to their villa. Then, she sold off the jewelry and handbags Wyatt had bought her over the years. But before leaving, there was one final goodbye she had to make to Finnley. After all, she had grown up under his care. At Greene Manor, Savannah handed Finnley the two paternity reports. Finnley's fury was palpable as he cursed out loud. He grasped her hand tightly and sighed with regret. "We've failed you, Savannah. I'm sorry. Your grandfather and I were close friends, and I always thought of you like my own. I wanted you to marry Camden, but look what he did... I truly believed Wyatt loved you, but now... this. I don't know how to make things right anymore!" Savannah knew Finnley meant every word. She replied, "Grandpa, I've made up my mind. I've decided to go abroad and came to say goodbye." After all the tension she'd been holding onto for so long, Savannah finally felt the weight lift. "Please don't tell them yet. After I'm gone, give Wyatt the divorce papers and make sure he signs them." Finnley wanted to argue, but the words got stuck in his throat. In the end, he agreed. At the airport, after finishing her check-in, Savannah received her final call from Wyatt. "Sav, where are you? Is everything okay with the baby? I've been calling your phone but couldn't get through. I was so worried. Tell me where you are. I'll come get you." Savannah glanced at the address for the medical exhibit and read it out to him. She added, "Come quickly. I have a surprise for you." Wyatt didn't suspect anything. He thought it was just one of her little mood swings, and he could coax her until she would forget about the previous incident. Their dynamic would go back to normal, and he would resume playing the role of the good husband once again. Once the call ended, Savannah tossed her SIM card into the trash and turned off her phone. She would never answer another call from him. They would never meet again. In the waiting area, the boarding announcement came over the loudspeaker. Savannah severed her last connection with the city as she hurriedly made her way onto the plane with her suitcase in tow. Meanwhile, Wyatt searched the venue for her in puzzlement. He couldn't find her anywhere. Frustrated, he began browsing the medical exhibit. Some of the medical specimens, especially those of children aged between one month to ten months, made him uneasy. Wyatt's gaze eventually landed on a five-month-old male fetus. The child was fully formed, but what caught his attention was the name beneath it. "Dawson Greene..." Wyatt froze. This was the name he had planned to give his second child. But now, it had appeared in the most bizarre and unsettling way. He muttered under his breath, "What's going on..." A chill ran down his spine, and a wave of dread swept over him.
