CHAPTER 379: BREAKING THE NEWS
The chef prepared an herbal tea the following day and another glass of lemon water as directed by Lauretta the previous night. He gave it to another staff and instructed them to take it up to the room; none of them had seen George in such a state before, so there was a bit of apprehensiveness.
"Good morning, sir; I brought you breakfast." The butler echoed at the door. He leaned in for a response but got nothing. "Mr. George, are you in there?" He pushed the giant wood door a bit, and it opened slightly, giving him the view of the left angle in the room. George was lying on the floor by the bedside, and an emptied bottle of rum was beside him.
The butler pushes the door open and slides the food trolley inside. He picks up the shirts, ties, and suits and drops them in the laundry bin. He picks up the rum, the halved bottle of vodka, and the cigarette packets from the floor. Then he proceeded to open the curtains and windows so the light could get inside.
