Chapter 31 Partnership on the Brink

Levi's expression turned cold. He knew what Harry was trying to do, and he was in no way in need of it. All he needed was a cold drink and peace of mind to wrap up his business for the day and hit the gym. He needed his gym time so badly, as he had been getting cranky lately, especially after finding out about the surgery and its risks. Levi's eyes narrowed as he stared at Harry, his voice firm and detached. "Harry, I appreciate your concern, but I'm fine. I just need to wrap up some work, and then I'll head to the gym. That's all I need right now." Harry's expression turned sympathetic, but he didn't push the issue further. He just rolled his eyes. "What are you doing here though? I thought you went home to Mildred?" Harry could see that Levi was trying to shift focus from the topic of conversation to Harry. But he didn't want to argue with his friend. "They're out.
