Chapter 6 I don't mind if she's pregnant
Lina wondered why Annie would speak for her.
"Annie, there's no need. It was just a collaboration. I'll end this relationship with her soon." Angus said coldly.
Although he didn't have feelings for Annie, she had given her body for himself, and whether he liked it or not, he had to be responsible for her and also for her brother Lauren.
"Listen to me Angus, originally she was your wife, and it is I love you too much to make your marriage into a partnership. I am content to know that you love me, now I already felt sorry for Lina. Just come and see her father, please do not put her on the spot." Annie kindly said.
Lina was a little surprised that Annie would persuade Angus for her.
It's just that, perhaps it's a woman's sixth sense, Lina inexplicably disliked Annie.
Angus frowned and looked at Lina, "I'll pass by tomorrow, but no next time."
"Thank you, Mr. Angus, Miss Annie, I'll leave you then." Lina looked at Annie and left after that.
But when Annie saw Lina open the door, the bracelet on Lina's wrist suddenly caught her eyes and it felt somewhat familiar. Annie thought for a moment before remembering that day when she went to the hotel to check the security camera, she could not see the woman's face, but when the damn woman pressed the elevator, she also revealed a string of bracelet.
The sudden finding made Annie feel uneasy. Was it a coincidence, or was Lina really the woman Angus had slept with that night?
In that case, things gonna get tough.
In case Angus found out that she was not the woman he slept with that night, then she would have no chance at all.
No, it can't be, it can't be that woman!
She won't let anyone stop her to become Mrs. Angus.
Angus held Annie in his arms, and looked to the door that Lina had just closed when she left. No matter what, he couldn't let Annie feel aggrieved.
Next day.
Angus did exactly what he said he would do.
In the afternoon, he arrived at the castle of the Celta family.
Both Celta and Brugger went to the office, and Sally went out to go shopping with the ladies.
Lina decided to let Dill and Angus meet in the garden of the castle to keep Angus from knowing her embarrassed position in the house.
"Mr. Angus, this is my father." Lina introduced with some nervousness.
Angus didn't say anything, just sat down with a frown.
"Lina. Go get me a cup of coffee." Dill spoke up.
Lina looked at Dill and then at Angus, got up and headed for the small courtyard in the back.
In this house, they have no maids and must do everything themselves.
Watching Lina leave, Dill immediately stood up and bowed deeply to Angus.
Angus' face was a little worse, he didn't know what this father and daughter were playing at.
"Mr. Angus, I'm sorry to trouble you to come." Dill said sincerely.
"I would like to ask you to stop this wedding."
Dill's words made Angus guess that they wanted even more.
After all, Celta knew that he was "dying of disease and impotence" and still insisted on marrying her daughter to him, even though Lina was the child conceived with her ex-husband, but she was still her daughter, wasn't it?
Now Dill was asking him to stop this wedding, and he had the feeling that he's being played by someone.
"Why?" Angus asked in a very unfriendly tone.
"It is an honor for Lina to marry Mr. Angus, but she can't marry you now because she is pregnant. And I believe that Mr. Angus will not marry a pregnant woman as his wife, so instead of regretting after wedding, we'd better end the relationship now." Dill said sincerely.
"She's pregnant?" Angus's face became even worse.
He had no feelings for Lina, and their agreement was supposed to be mutual, but she did not confess her pregnancy.
He thought Lina was different from the women who wanted to marry him, it seemed that her methods are much more powerful than theirs.
He was just played by a woman!
"I'm sorry, Mr. Angus, I've only just learned of this news, so, does Mr. Angus agree to cancel the wedding?" Dill asked tentatively.
"Of course not, I don't mind that she's pregnant, I like her." Angus suddenly laughed, to get back at that woman, all he needed was a look and a word.
But he didn't want to give Lina what she wanted.
Her pregnancy wouldn't affect the cooperation between them, and then maybe his father will stop meddling in his marriage because of this, and he will be able to take Annie as his wife, and he didn't need to like it very much, he just can't be live up to Annie.
Giving Annie an identity was the only thing he could do for her.
Dill didn't expect Angus to be so stubborn, "But-"
Before he could finish his sentence, Lina came over with two cups of coffee.
"Dad, what's wrong with you guys?" Sensing their somewhat strange atmosphere, Lina spoke up a little nervously and asked.
She didn't know exactly what Dill had talked to Angus about.
"Dear, uncle was afraid that marrying me might make you feel aggrieved, you can rest assured that I will love you well." Said directly picked up a cup of coffee and took a sip.
"Huh?" Lina was taken aback by his sudden change of attitude and looked at him in disbelief.
"Well, there's business at the office, so I'll be off, and I'm looking forward to the wedding next week." Angus turned around and left after saying that.
Dill sighed and shook his head at Lina, "Lina, how can you live your life afterwards?"
"Dad, what did you talk about?" Lina asked, somewhat anxiously.
When she went to Angus yesterday, his attitude was completely different from today.
Dill picked up his coffee and took a sip, "Nothing, I just told him that you were pregnant and wanted him to call off his wedding to you."
"Dad! Why did you tell him?" Lina looked at Dill with some excitement.
"I knows your mind, you want to use your whole life, in exchange for daddy to get back the company's equity, but daddy doesn't need you to do that, using your happiness in exchange for wealth, do you think daddy can feel at ease? Moreover, you are pregnant with a child, this matter cannot be hidden, when the time comes, the people of the Bryan family won't let you go."
Dill looked at Lina heartbreakingly and helplessly, she was such a sensible and never thought for herself!
Lina sat down beside Dill, "Dad, don't worry. I have my ways, you just need to get well. In the near future, you have to play with your little grandson. As for this matter, don't worry anymore, I will solve it."
Since that day, Lina hadn't seen Angus.
She didn't know why Angus, who already knew she's pregnant, wanted to continue this marriage that was supposed to be a deal.
But she knew that it would never be that Angus liked her, so it was useless for her to worry, and when she got her father's shares back, they would end the relationship.
Dill and her would start a new life, and Angus, too, could take his beloved Annie as his wife.
The wedding, at Angus's insistence, was not a grand affair, but a simple ceremony with only loved ones in attendance.
This was understandable to Lina, after all, it wouldn't be long before they divorce, and the more the outside world knew, the more negative impact it would have on the Bryan family.
After the wedding, Lina moved to live in Angus's castle.
