Chapter 55: THE PAST

ISABELLA’S P.O.V. I should have known from the moment I watched Harold die that something was wrong but it took a few more days for me to realize that something was off. It happened by accident actually, one second, I was lying on the bed watching Lorenzo get dressed when I noticed something on the dresser- a tampon. It hit me like a ton of bricks and I found myself jerking into an upright position which scared Lorenzo because he rushed over to my side. “Is everything okay?” he asked and I nodded. “Are you sure?” “I’m fine, I just realized I would have to go to the store later,” I lied and I saw his shoulders ease. He leaned down and kissed me deeply and I allowed myself to bask in the feeling. When he pulled away, he had a small smile on his face. “You know where the card is,” with one final wink in my direction, he was gone.
