Chapter 11 Grudges and Grievances
After Renee stood firm, she sneered, "I've said the truth, right? See how angry and funny you are."
"You!..."
Just as Ryan was so angry that he was about to crack his teeth, an angry voice came from behind. "Renee! This is not the place for you to act!"
Nevin walked quickly toward Renee with a fierce aura.
"Do you still think you are the second daughter of the Johnston family?" Nevin sarcastically said to her, "The Johnston family has fallen, and now you are just a stray dog! Do you think you still have the right to stand here?"
Renee took a deep breath, suppressing her surging blood. She made a mocking smile and looked up and down at Nevin, saying, "You came out of the hospital so quickly? It seems that Zarek was too lenient last time."
Remembering the last incident, Nevin felt deeply angry. He clenched his fists to the point of clattering.
That was the most humiliating memory of his life. All because of Renee, this slut!
He couldn't retaliate against that man, but couldn't he retaliate against Renee?
The others in the lobby felt that there seemed to be a big show and turned their attention to gossip.
Coming out of the hospital?
Lenient?
Nevin had a fierce look as if he was about to kill someone, and his right hand was ready to move.
Renee casually glanced at his right hand. She sneered coldly in her heart and pointed to her face, saying, "Come on, if you have the guts, hit here."
If Nevin dared to take action, she would immediately lie down and blackmail him.
Nevin's unkind eyes were fixed on her, and his right hand suddenly stopped as if judging what tricks she was trying to play.
"Don't you dare? The men in your family are indeed cowards. You just dare bully the weak but fear the hard!"
Nevin's face suddenly turned ferocious. He was so angry that he raised his hand, wanting to slap her.
Renee didn't even move. She reminded him with a chuckle, "Mr. Grant, don't forget we're in public. If you dare to touch me, I promise to give you a half-month imprisonment. Don't blame me for letting you have a criminal record then."
The hand that was about to commit the crime froze in mid-air, but Nevin wasn't willing to give up.
"By the way, Zarek is outside. Mr. Grant, why don't you say hello to him?" Renee's head tilted towards the direction of the company gate.
Nevin suddenly turned to look at the gate, but his gaze was mostly blocked by bookshelves and exhibition booths. He could hardly see the entrance.
Nevin cautiously stared at Renee, knowing that Renee didn't lie.
Renee sarcastically sneered. It seemed that Nevin's recent fear of Zarek was indeed deep. Hearing Zarek's name, Nevin was like a mouse seeing a cat.
"Security!" Nevin's forehead twitched with blue veins. "Security!"
He shouted twice in anger, and several security guards rushed over.
"Mr. Grant, what's the matter?"
"Blow them both out! Who dares to let bitches like Renee step into here again will be fired!"
Listening to Nevin's words that the Johnston Group belonged to him, Renee's eyes turned cold. Nevin took over the company, embezzled her family assets, and occupied the hard work of her father and uncles. How shameless!
"Renee, this..." Anthony was dumbfounded. He didn't expect Nevin to be this arrogant.
Renee was clearly the owner of the Johnston Group, but now she was being driven out by an outsider.
The security guards hesitantly agreed, stepped forward, and dragged Renee out.
Renee avoided their hands and said, "Don't touch me. I can walk."
She lifted her chin slightly, her cold eyes resolutely looking at Nevin, "Nevin, I will take back everything you and Irina have taken away from me one day!"
"Let's go."
Behind her, there was a burst of laughter, with Nevin's voice particularly piercing.
"I'm waiting! You are as cheap as a stray dog. How could you compete with me? Haha!"
Renee ignored the sarcasm and mockery behind her and walked steadily towards the gate with Anthony.
After leaving the hall, Renee saw Zarek leaning against the front of the white Cayenne at first glance. He was tall and handsome, with a dignified face and an extraordinary demeanor, attracting the attention of passersby.
Anthony, who had seen many gentlemen, couldn't help but feel surprised when he saw Zarek.
Such temperament was far beyond that of many nobles.
"Oh, you are here. How is the situation?" Zarek asked.
Renee shook her head and replied, "Nevin and his team had fired many veterans. Nevin and Irina almost do whatever they want."
"By the way, Anthony, even if Nevin wants to fire you, he should give you a reason, right?"
Anthony sighed, "Don't mention it. They said the group wasn't doing well recently, and there would be layoffs. My old colleagues had all been fired."
"You are at least the backbone of the company. Even if the company's profits are terrible, they shouldn't have fired you first. They are deliberately targeting you!"
"Most of the company's shares are now held by Irina and the Grant family. They wanted us to leave, and we could only accept."
Renee persisted, "There are still several major shareholders in the company. Are they not managed to stop them even if they do such absurd things? Isn't there anyone who can stop them?"
Putting aside those grudges and grievances, Anthony and his old colleagues were crucial to the company. However, Nevin, in order to gain absolute power, ignored the overall situation and mercilessly fired them.
"Those shareholders are profit-oriented. Nevin must have bribed them, but... there might be someone who can stop them."
Anthony's eyes flashed with light, and Renee immediately became excited and urgently asked, "Who?"
"Do you remember that time when our group encountered a financial crisis? To save the situation, Conrad sold 35% of the group's shares at an unprecedented high price. Finally, a mysterious buyer bought them."
Anthony's words awakened Renee's distant memories. She had faintly heard about this matter back then.
She only knew that the mysterious buyer was low-key but generous.
He bought the shares at such a high price back then. He probably wanted to help the group.
But why would a stranger offer help?
"As far as I know, Nevin and Irina's shares will not exceed 40%. If we can obtain that buyer's support, there is still hope of recapturing the group. Can you contact him now?"
But Anthony shook his head again. "The only one who can contact him is your father, but he left too suddenly..."
They fell into a suppressed silence, and Renee's hand hanging on her side gradually clenched.
"Now that I've known everything. Don't be sad. We all knew your character. We won't believe a word others gossip about you. Your father is the same as us. He knows your character, too. He won't blame you in heaven." Anthony comforted her.
