Chapter 05
Let go? Was this his response to her pleading?
There was a pain in her lower abdomen, and Joana subconsciously wanted to reach out to protect her it, but her hands were firmly restrained by the bodyguard and she couldn't move at all.
At this moment, she turned her head to glare at Hansel's back as if wanting to penetrate through it and take a glimpse at what kind of a heart he has.
Ten years, she has loved Hansel for ten years.
Even if she knew that the person Hansel loved was Sherry, she never dared show her affection for him because the man hidden deep in her heart was her sister's boyfriend.
However, a year ago, a night had rekindled her hope.
In the end, she didn't expect that under the strong request of the Shen family, Hansel still married her. After marrying him, she loved him wholeheartedly and treated him well.
She had always thought that as long as she persisted, she would be able to impress him one day.
However, she soon realized that she was wrong and that it was a grave mistake, because no matter how much she sincerely spent her time with him, he would never warm his heart toward her.
Forced by the bodyguards, Joana finally gave up struggling, and with hatred in her eyes, she stared at the direction Hansel was, and roared hysterically, "Hansel, I won't forgive you when I die!"
Her heart-piercing screams echoed in the corridor for a long time. Hansel stood there with a gloomy face and a heavy heart, and was oblivious to the strange gazes from the people around him.
For some reason, his eyelids kept twitching.
Could it be that he was doing something wrong?
His eyes dimmed slightly. He raised his foot and walked toward the ward as if using practical actions to firmly tell himself that he must do this for Sherry.
Joana was forcibly restrained there. The nurse's hands couldn't stop trembling as she looked at the fierce bodyguard beside her. In the end, she bit her lip and pierced the needle into Joana's skin.
Seeing the blood flowing downstream, Joana only felt cold all over, and then her vision went dark and she imminently lost her consciousness.
By the time she woke up again, three days had already passed.
She moved slightly and noticed that the surrounding area was all white, which made her suspect that she might be dead.
Suddenly, there was a low voice from the side, "Are you awake?"
Seeing that Joana had finally regained consciousness, the caregiver immediately showed a look of surprise and continued, "I will go and tell Mr. Shen that you are awake."
"Wait!"
Seeing that the caregiver was about to stand up, Joana grabbed her sleeves. She felt a tearing pain from her lower abdomen from the sudden movement. She was shocked, she subconsciously stroked her lower abdomen as she murmured, "My child... Is my child okay?"
"The child..." the caregiver hesitated as she looked at Joana. Her eyes couldn't help but pool with sadness and concern. After hesitating, the caregiver looked down and said, "Miss, you are still young. You can still have children in the future."
Upon hearing that, Joana's head was spinning and her heart felt heavy as if something had collapsed onto it. She suddenly supported her body, grabbed the caregiver's arm tightly, and shouted, "My child, how could my child be gone?"
The caregiver obviously did not expect that a person who was unconscious for three days would still have such great strength. She was so frightened that she wanted to break away from Joana's grasp, but when she realized she couldn't, she finally resorted to gently patting the back of Joana's hand and comforted her, "The doctor said that she did everything she could. You can still have children in the future, you are still young. The most important thing is to keep your body safe."
"Oh, Joana is awake!"
