I settled into my bed, the soothing warmth of my blankets feeling like a reward for surviving the day's chaos. Grabbing my laptop, I dialed Sasha’s number, eager to catch up. When she answered, her face popped up on the screen, and I greeted her with a grin.

“I’ve been good. What about you? How was Seattle? How’s your aunt?” I asked, genuinely curious.
