208: A Lot Of Paint

I arrived home, parked my car, and walked inside the mansion. Making my way upstairs, I screamed the moment I saw my mother. She had too much makeup on her face, making her look like a freak.
Her countenance was a technicolor display of makeup gone rogue. It looked like she had raided a circus tent and used the contents as face paint. Bright blue eyeshadow clashed with neon pink blush, and her lips were a shade of red that could only be described as "fire truck."
“Camilla!” she shrieked, her voice high-pitched and panicked. “You’re home so late! What happened to you?”
I rubbed my eyes, certain I was hallucinating. “Mom, what’s with the look? Did you accidentally faceplant into a makeup counter?”
Her expression shifted from frantic to indignant. “This is not just makeup! It’s my special ‘Look at Me, I’m Fabulous’ evening look!”
