Chapter 9 Allen: I’m Not Interested in You.

Madison kept her head submissively low and talked in a gentle voice. Allen was confident that no man in this world would be able to say no to a woman like her. He squinted coldly as mixed emotions rose in his heart. He had no idea why, but her submissive look stung him. He looked away and said coldly, “That’s not necessary.” After that, he went upstairs in a huff. Madison just stayed there for a while. It took her a while before she started to move again, as if nothing had happened. She picked up the lunch boxes that had gone out of shape when they fell to the floor. Little by little, she scooped up all the expensive food on the floor back into the boxes. After cleaning up the mess, she sat at the side of the table and started eating the food she had bought with a fork. All this food was expensive. Even though these meals had nearly cost all of the money Madison had, she still bought them back for Allen. These exquisite delicacies were the food she could no longer afford to buy in the past year. No matter how much she wanted to enjoy them, she just pushed the urge aside. Therefore, even if Allen threw them on the floor without batting an eye, she could not waste them. Madison silently savored the taste of these delicacies in her mouth. Suddenly, she buried her head in her arms. Her shoulders trembled violently as she bit her lips and broke into tears. It was so tough… She was really struggling to hold on. However, she had to press on no matter how tough it was. This was because her mother was still in the hospital, and she needed the $150,000 to save her. After a brief emotional breakdown, Madison hastily pulled herself together again. She did not have the luxury of time to cry. She finished up the rest of the food, wiped the tears off her cheeks, and washed her face with cold water. After that, she returned to her room with a laptop in her arms. Madison was not satisfied with the design she had worked on in the studio today. She had to make changes based on the client's comments before she went to work tomorrow. This night, Madison worked until 3:00 a.m. before going to sleep. The next day- When Madison got up to prepare breakfast, Allen was already gone. Apparently, the man hated her so much that he did not want to have breakfast with her. Madison felt it was better. She did not have to prepare a portion for him anymore. When Madison got to the studio, she received a text message from Rowena. A big overseas client had suddenly requested to check their goods, so Rowena brought a few skilled workers over there first. She wanted Madison to help her take care of the studio for the time being. Since there was no one to disturb her, Madison rolled up her sleeves and started to work on her draft. She was so focused on her work that she did not go to take her lunch even though it was already noon. Suddenly, her phone rang. She took it up and realized it was an unknown phone number. “Hello, who’s speaking?” “It’s me.” Allen’s apathetic voice drifted over from the other end of the line. Madison couldn’t help holding her breath. She did not expect Allen to call her at all. She did not even know when he got her phone number. “Mr. Whitlock, you…” “I want you to come to the nursing home to see my grandfather now. I’m waiting outside of the nursing home. I’ll only give you 30 minutes.” “But Mr. Whitlock, I’m working…” “Working? I suggest you find a better excuse next time,” said Allen, his voice thick with mockery. Apparently, he did not believe that Madison had found a job. “You still have 29 minutes and 30 seconds left. Don’t make me wait for you too long. Madison, I’m sure you know the consequences of coming here late.” After that, Allen hung up the call without any hesitation. Looking at her phone, Madison took a deep breath and hurried to the nursing home. As soon as she arrived, a black Bentley came up to her. The window rolled down, and Allen’s indifferent face came into Madison’s sight. “Get in,” he commanded coldly. Madison had no other choice but to get into the car. After that, Allen threw a fancy dress on her lap. “Put it on,” he said coldly while glancing at her out of the corner of his eye. He did not know why Madison was still so poorly dressed despite taking $150,000 from him. Looking at her faded dress, Allen frowned deeply. Madison picked up the dress and asked nervously, “You… You want me to change my dress here?” “Of course. You’re not in a shopping mall now. There’s no fitting room here, and no shop attendants will serve you.” Madison bit her lips. That was not what she meant. The mocking smile on Allen's face deepened as if he could read her mind. “Don’t worry. I have no interest in a woman with a promiscuous private life like you. Even if you're lying naked in front of me, I'll just feel that you're filthy.”
