Chapter 46 Extending an Olive Branch

Carolyn I was in. I had become part of the basketball team. I knew I had done well during the test but I still couldn't believe it. I had been surprised and excited when the names of all the members of each sport team was listed on the school notice board and I found my name under the basketball team. I moved away from the notice board with a smile, the smile not even slipping off by an inch when I saw Mia and her gang of friends. "What happened to her?" Mia asked as I walked past her, giving me a scornful look. Madeline shrugged. "I don't know." Rose stared at me. "She seems to be coming from where the notice board is. Maybe there is something there that concerns her." "How could there be?" Mia hissed. "I made sure she wasn't accepted into the cheerleading team." I watched with a smile as she rushed to the notice board to check it, her two friends running after her. I wished I could see the look on her face when she sees my name on the notice board but I couldn't go back there.
