Chapter 75 Failed Plans and Backstabbers

Jenny ran to the scene and pulled Mirabel up from the ground. She was fuming. “What are you doing?! Are you going down on your knees to beg your husband’s damn lapdog?!” She demanded. Without waiting for a response from Mirabel, she turned to Spencer, “Stay out of this—” “Who are you, again?” Spencer cut in, blinking blankly at Jenny. “Oh? A struggling artist who’s trying to latch on to the Darwins for influence and wealth?” “What?” Jenny sounded incredulous. Mirabel wasn't even listening. She was trembling violently, staring down at the floor and feeling like she would throw up any moment now. Her stomach churned with panic, uneasiness and dread all rolled into one. Her plan had failed. Those words echoed around her head, over and over until she was sure she would scream and never stop. She had blown her only chance of escaping this mentally draining marriage, and now…once Chase found out… She shuddered to even think about his reaction. Jenny and Spencer were still having a hea
