Chapter 5 He didn’t came back
Yolanda was busy in the kitchen for several hours and she was getting more and more upset。 She then finished making dinner and waited for a long time。 The meals all got cool, but Jonathan was not back yet。 Though he was usually, he would come back before ten o’colck。
She was sitting at the table, clenching her phone。 Her hands got sweaty。 She called him again and again, but she hung up every time。
She stared at the clock in the living room, counting。 Then an hour had passed, but the living room was still empty, and it was quite quiet outside the villa。 He。。。。。。was not coming home tonight?
How surprised and excited was he because his loved one came back?
Yolanda wanted to phoned him and asked him to come back, but then she thought humbly that these five years she had been sticking with Jonathan。 But this time, she wanted to take a risk。 She wanted to bet that Jonathan would choose to come home at last。
She didn’t have the appetite to eat, either, so she put away those already cold meals and then went upstairs to sleep。 But she couldn’t fall asleep, listening to the clock ticking。 Her abdomen was acting up and she felt more and more pain, curling on the bed, wrapping herself up tightly with a quilt。 But she could still felt cold and painful。
At 3 p。m, Jonathan was not back yet。
Her forehead was covered with sweat and she became a little unconscious。 Then she tried hard to phone Jonathan, after a few ringing, from the other side came a voice of a woman。
“Hello, who is calling?”
Yolanda asked with her trembling voice, “Where is Jonathan?”
“Jonathan?” The woman smiled and said, “He’s asleep。 If you have anything to tell him, I can tell him for you。”
He was asleep。。。。。。
Yolanda felt her heart was aching。 She curled up a bit, saying, “No, thanks。”
The woman on the other side was silent for a few seconds and then said indifferently, “OK。”
