After the women finished their meal and turned in for the night, Eloise quietly made her way down the mountain alone to Ryan's shack.
Inside, Ryan sat on his bed, puffing on a cigar. The air was thick with smoke, causing Eloise to cough the moment she stepped in. She waved her arms around, trying to clear the smoke.
Seeing her discomfort, Ryan immediately stubbed out the cigar, guilt flashing across his face. "Sorry about that."
It took a moment, but the smoke slowly began to dissipate, and Eloise could finally breathe easier. "How much have you been smoking, Ryan? That can't be good for you."
"I know," he said, a bit sheepishly. "I only had a few puffs."
"A few?" She shook her head in disapproval. "It feels like you put out a forest fire in here."
