Ryan felt a wave of frustration wash over him and sighed. He had tried to avoid talking about it, but Eloise had brought it up anyway.
"I taught Sherry archery, and now Camelia's upset, thinking I'm siding with her!" His voice carried a mix of innocence and exasperation. Eloise couldn't help but chuckle—it was her first time seeing him so helpless.
"What is so funny?" he asked, clearly annoyed.
Her laughter was reflexive. She knew laughing at someone's misfortune wasn't right, so she quickly apologized to Ryan. "I wasn't laughing on purpose, Ryan!"
Ryan raised an eyebrow, pondering her words. Could someone even laugh on purpose?
Eloise hurriedly added, "Now that Camelia thinks that you're on Sherry's side, who else can ensure that neither of them wins? Freya?"
She had always seen Freya as capable of anything. The woman could cook, grow vegetables, identify herbs, and even raise livestock. Surely, archery was just another skill on her endless list!
