Wrong Sperm Donor
Lucky's POV
"Miss Lucresia Salvador?"
I lifted my face and looked at the female nurse. "Yes?"
I cleared my throat. I was so clouded with my thoughts that I forgot I'm in the hospital for my check up.
She smiled. "Doctor Yoon will see you in her office. Please follow me."
"Doctor Yoon?" I don't think that's the name of the doctor whom I talked to last time.
She cleared her throat. "Well, you were transferred to her."
I nodded and followed her. We entered Doctor Yoon's office and left me there. After a few minutes, Doctor Yoon entered and smiled at me.
"Miss Salvador? Congratulations! It's successful. You are now two weeks pregnant."
My heart skipped a beat. My fear, nervousness and doubt slowly faded after I heard the great news. Tears filled the corner of my eyes as I cupped my mouth and smiled at the doctor. So, this is what it feels like. It feels so euphoric.
I shook her hand. "Thank you, Doctor Yoon. Thank you so much!"
She smiled wider. "Congratulations again, Miss Salvador. I'll prescribe you vitamins, okay? Let's also have a regular check up."
I nodded and thanked her again. I'm smiling when I stepped out of her office. I heard two nurses talking when I passed by the nurse station.
"I heard Doctor Yu was fired because of that. She's not in her usual self these past few weeks. I heard she broke up with her long time boyfriend that's why."
My forehead creased. Doctor Yu? Is that the doctor who I talked with last time?
"Even so. That's not an acceptable reason for her mistakes. Gosh! She mistakenly fertilized the other woman. And the sperm was from a VIP client. She's so dead." The one commented.
Mistakenly? I was lost for a moment as I clenched the test result in my hands.
'This, wouldn't happen for me, right?' I asked myself.
"So, the VIP client already knows?" The other nurses was still curious, and so was I.
"I don't think so. The Director won't put our hospital's name on the line."
Somehow, I let out a long sigh of relief. I pity the doctor and the woman who received the wrong sperm. That's bad.
And I believed it could not be me. After all, if there was a problem, they would have told me minutes before.
Yes, that’s correct! I convinced myself. Putting aside these thoughts, I proceeded to the elevator with a smile on my face.
I'm going to be a mother. That's great news and it deserves to be shared with someone!

“H-He cheated?” Camilla asked with a shocked face. He shook his head. “I mean… Why? He was so in love with you, Lucky! Damn him!”
Sunny, who’s carrying a hot chocolate, came and handed me the mug. She was Camilla's classmate and eventually became friends with me too.
“Men are the same, Cami. They’re weak when it comes to temptation.”
Camilla caressed my arm. “Did you tell your mom? What about the wedding?”
I shook my head. “I didn’t want to tell mum. She’d be worried and angry. About the wedding, I don’t know. I received a call from mum yesterday. She said Peter's parents are mad at me for ditching their son.”
“So, Peter still pushed the wedding even after what he did? And he expected you to come?”
I nodded at Sunny.
“Why don’t you tell them what Peter did? You don’t deserve their anger. It’s their son who cheated.”
I shook my head at Sunny. “I’m still recovering, Sunny. And it won’t be easy for me to face them.”
Camilla heaved a sigh. “Are you okay, Lucky? What is it that you wanna tell us?”
I swallowed hard as I remembered why I called them to come over to my apartment. I sipped on my hot chocolate and licked my bottom lip. “Well… I’m pregnant.”
”Huh?”
”Peter! That asshole!”
Cami was about to pull herself up. Surely to confront Peter but I stopped her. “Cami, he’s not the father.”
She turned to me. They both gaped and stared at me as if I’ve grown three heads. I looked away and chewed my bottom lip. “I-I underwent artificial insemination two weeks ago.”
"You what?" Sunny narrowed her eyes at me and shook my shoulders. She is now gaping at me like a stupid girl.
“I thought of getting back at him. And I want to give my mother a grandchild. Besides, this is also my dream. To have a child.”
”Have you gone crazy, Lucky? You did it out of impulsiveness?”
I looked down. “But I didn’t regret it. When I heard the doctor said I’m pregnant. I was so happy. My heart skipped a beat and thinking about carrying a child of my own makes me happy. I’m happy with my decision, Sunny.”
Cami and Sunny looked at each other before Cami caressed my arm and smiled.
"You've been suffering since college, Lucky. You didn't even finish your study. That's a tough time, you lost your dad, your family's business and Da..." She squeezed my hand softly, "You've suffered too much, my dear. And I'm gonna support all your decisions. So, congratulations!"
"Don't forget me!" Sunny jumped in and gave us a big bear hug, "Congratulations, Lucky! You deserve to be happy."
"Thank you, Cami, Sunny." I hugged them back tightly as tears collected in my eyes. I'm so lucky to have two real friends.
We're talking about the name of my baby when my phone rang.
My forehead creased after seeing an unknown caller. Nevertheless, I answered the call. “Hello?”
[Hello? Is this Miss Lucresia Salvador?]
I signaled Sunny and Camilla to wait. I walked three steps away from them. “Yes, who is this?”
[This is Sebastian Cowell, director of the Gentle Care Medical hospital. Miss Salvador, I’m sorry. It's an emergency and we need you to come here.]
"Excuse me, what emergency do you mean?" My brows mounted tighter unknowingly as I caressed my belly.
Was there anything wrong with my baby? No! I can't let it happen!
[We… uh… made a mistake.]
And his hesitation made me worried more.
"What's that?!" My tone became harsh as I said.
[You received the wrong sperm.]
“Huh?" I felt my throat go dry. I even bet I paled.
[Miss Salvador, Doctor Yu accidentally fertilized you with our VIP’s sperm.]
BOOM! All of sudden, I felt my world turning upside down.
They can’t do this to me. God! Why am I so unlucky?
