CHAPTER 116: FACING OBSTACLES
"Why are you doing this to us?" A shrill voice pierced the morning air.
Samantha looked up from her blueprints, her serene expression faltering. A crowd had gathered at the edge of the construction site, their faces marked with anger and confusion. The speaker, a woman with greying hair and a weathered face, stepped forward, her eyes flashing angrily.
"We don't need your fancy school buildings," she continued, her voice rising. "We need water and roads!"
Samantha stepped forward, her striking beauty momentarily disarming the crowd. Her blonde hair glistened in the harsh sunlight, and her slender frame projected confidence. She had always found her appearance both a blessing and a curse in these situations.
"I understand your concerns," she began, calm but firm. "This project is designed to bring long-term benefits to your community. We have plans for infrastructure improvements that will address those very needs."
