“I expected that,” Ian said as he rubbed his jaw where a bruise was forming. “I’ll take your hits as long as you can admit that I was right.”
“Take her home, Ian.”
“I’m right here.” I waved my hands dramatically. “Stop talking to me or about me like I’m invisible. I’m not leaving and I don’t care if you order Ian around for years, I am not leaving.”
Darius narrowed his eyes at me as if he were debating whether or not to carry me over his shoulders and deposit me outside his house. I crossed my hands over my chest and stared at him to show I was not intimidated by him and I was not going to let him walk over me. Amid our stare-off, I heard a cackle.
