Chapter 45
Ian muttered something under his breath that sounded suspiciously like goddess help me. The room went deathly quiet and Darius finally looked up at me. His eyes were as hard as stone and I swallowed down the knot in my throat and forced myself to keep eye contact with him.
“I am not against tying you to a bed to ensure that you don’t leave,” he offered up casually. “I don’t want you anywhere near Liam again.”
“I deserve to know, I was the one he tried to kill.”
“Most people stay away from what tried to kill them instead of running towards it. Is that a testament to their foolishness or yours?”
“Stop talking to me like I’m stupid,” I mumbled. “I hate it.”
“Then stop acting like you are,” he ran his hand through his hair in frustration. “The last thing I need while interrogating Liam is to be worried about you. Stay here, I won’t ask again.”
