Upon hearing Bryson calling out to Christine, Naomi wiggled her way back under the covers. She pulled her blanket over her head, as if she would feel less awkward if she couldn't see Christine. Bryson's greeting snapped Christine back to her senses too. She looked awkwardly at Brendan, who was in bed. "What brought you here, Brendan? Why didn't you give us a heads-up that you were coming?" If she had known that he was in Naomi's room, she would have knocked and entered only after she was prompted to. Nonetheless, she had already come into the room. Naomi and Brendan had not gotten remarried officially, and Bryson was making a fuss on the bed. Despite feeling embarrassed, Christine could only force herself to walk over and pick Bryson up.
