The next morning, Naomi and Brendan woke up to find Bryson already awake. He sat on his small bed, holding his foot and looking at them. When he saw them wake up, he giggled. Naomi and Brendan couldn't help but laugh too. After laughing, Naomi said, "I might have given birth to a little fool. All he does is laugh." Brendan didn't like to hear that. He hugged her from behind. "Nonsense. My son is the smartest." By now, Brendan was used to calling Bryson his son. Bryson saw them bicker early in the morning, laughing even more as he grabbed his foot. Naomi realized he enjoyed watching the fun. She reached out to tickle Bryson and asked, "What are you laughing at, silly boy?" "Mommy!" Bryson called out as he crawled over to Naomi, nestling into her arms. Brendan reached out and pinched Bryson's cheek. "Hey, son, that's my wife. Don't get too comfortable." Bryson quickly snuggled deeper into Naomi's embrace, hugging her tighter. Brendan, not to be outdone, hugged Naomi from behind.
