"Impossible. Caden, don't talk nonsense."
It was still the same scene as yesterday. They were in her bedroom. Caden was still wearing the same clothes too. The dream felt very real.
After Avery denied Caden's words, he played a recording for her.
"Yes, I'm Avery's boyfriend."
Hearing Mason's familiar yet strange voice, Avery suddenly woke up.
Opening her eyes, she saw that she was still in Mason's office. He was sitting at the desk, busy with work.
As she narrowed her eyes at Mason, her sleepiness hadn't fully faded. Her eyelids felt heavy, and her body was still weak. This time, her fever had really drained her, leaving her especially tired and drowsy, unlike previous times.
She stared at Mason for a moment. Then, she pulled the blanket closer, turned on her side on the couch, and went back to sleep.
