Mason looked up at Avery and placed a piece of rib in her plate.
He did whatever he pleased. Who cared about so-called boundaries?
Seeing the rib he'd given her, Avery found it amusing. Though he blurred the lines between work and personal life, she felt happy about it.
At first, she feared someone might knock on the door and enter, but since she had come in, no one had come by.
They ate and chatted casually, enjoying a comfortable moment.
After finishing the meal, Avery felt slightly better, as if her fever had subsided. "Mr. Stone, I don't really feel like sleeping. Maybe I should go downstairs."
She started to clean up the dishes, but with one glance from Mason, she quickly gave in and said, "Okay, I'll rest."
