The crumpled paper ball stung as it made contact with her cheek. Genevieve covered her face, trying to hold back her rising anger as she turned to face the source. Her gaze landed on Tristan, who was sitting in the chair, his piercing eyes glaring at her icily.
Unable to discern the cause of his sudden outburst, Genevieve cautiously addressed him, "Mr. Burtman?"
Tristan shifted back in his seat, gesturing with his pen toward the crumpled paper on the ground by her feet. His tone was icy as he asked, "Did you draw that?"

Genevieve picked up the crumpled paper in confusion. As she unfolded the paper and examined its contents, she wished she could find a hole and crawl into hiding.
