Chapter 99 The Traitor
Mark's legs almost gave out the moment he heard that voice.
'It's over. Harlow's definitely going to kill me!' he wondered. Mark had witnessed Harlow's methods far too many times to doubt what would happen next.
"Spare me. I didn't betray the organization!" Mark's gun slowly lowered to the ground as he pleaded.
Clara had known all along that Harlow was following them, just as Mark had suspected. Harlow didn't trust her, and Clara was well aware of it.
The situation was now in the hands of those two. Clara, as someone new to the organization, knew she shouldn't comment on personnel matters.
Whether Mark stayed or left was up to Harlow.
Clara moved to a corner, ensuring she was out of earshot of their conversation.
A single gunshot rang out.
After a while, Harlow emerged, limping slightly. "I knew something was off, but I couldn't pinpoint who was behind it. Yet you figured it out right away."
Harlow couldn't help but reassess Clara.
