Chapter 154 Matthew's Request

Aurora and Matthew were sitting on the couch, staring daggers at each other like mortal enemies. The moment Clara walked in, they both averted their gazes. "Clara, are you alright?" Matthew hurried to her. "Don't worry. It's nothing serious. But I could use some help getting the glass out of my back." Clara's face was unnaturally pale, and the pain from her injury made her frown. Matthew immediately rushed over to support her and led her into the room. Aurora, worried, tried to follow them. But Matthew shot her a warning glance. "Don't come in. Stay outside." Aurora hated that feeling of helplessness. "I'm concerned for Clara. And besides, I'm a girl. It's more appropriate for me to go in. And I want to know whether Carl is dead or alive." Clara intervened. "Aurora, head back to your room. I'll tell you everything tomorrow, alright?" Aurora smiled as Matthew blocked her from entering. It was clear now. Carl was dead. Inside the room, Clara lay face down on the bed as Matthew
