Chapter 79 Mr. Bradley's Back Feels Safe

On the way back to the Royal Garden Mansion. Freya's feet were aching. She had specifically worn a pair of three-inch heels in order to match the dress she was wearing. It was fine when she was just standing in the mansion and watching the events unfold, but now that she had been walking for a while, both of her feet were numb from the pain. Bradley, who had been following behind her, noticed something was wrong with her. In just a few steps, he overtook her and knelt down before her. Freya frowned. What is he doing? "Get on. I'll carry you home." Bradley's deep voice drifted over to her. As he was bent over, his black shirt was pulled tight across his back, highlighting his perfectly muscular figure. His back was very broad, giving off a strong sense of safety. "It's fine. I can still walk." Freya did not plan on letting him carry her, but before she could take more than a few steps, she was swiftly picked up in a bridal carry. "Hey, what are you doing? Let me down now," Freya exclaimed. She had unwittingly wrapped her arms around his neck. Thus, she hid in his arms with a deep blush on her cheeks. He chuckled. "If you don't like piggyback rides, I'll carry you like this then." "No, this isn't appropriate!" Freya pushed against his chest, trying to get out of his embrace, but he held her too tightly for her to move away. "Are you afraid Bradley will be jealous? Perhaps you're worried that you will fall in love with me. Hm?" The man's cold and teasing voice echoed in her ear, making her already flushed face burn even brighter. Freya could hear her heart beat racing rapidly. For some reason, she always felt a mysterious sense of pressure and nervousness she could not name while around this man. Even the hint of peppermint scent on him would leave her captivated. "I'm just not used to being so close to the opposite sex. Please put me down. It's fine if you give me a piggyback ride." From her point of view, she had a clear view of the man's profile. He looked as if his face was chiseled by a master sculptor while his handsome features were as perfect as if he had walked out of a painting. His narrow, dark eyes always held a hint of mischief in them while his thin lips were curved in a contradictory mix of wickedness and nobility that gave him a seductive aura. Just one glance, and Freya found it hard to look away. Bradley noticed she was looking at him, and his lips curved upward. Then, he put her down and bent down again. Freya did not want to be carried, but her feet were hurting so badly that she could not walk. After a moment of hesitation, she took off her high heels and slowly leaned her tense body against his back. The warmth Bradley could feel against his back made his smile widen. Freya clung awkwardly to his neck while holding the pair of champagne-colored high heels in her hands. Freya was very nervous about being so close to a man. The regret had struck her the moment she climbed onto his back. However, he did not give her a chance to back off as he grabbed her thighs and started walking steadily toward home. A cool breeze blew past the couple. Freya's high heels swung in time to Bradley's walk. His wide and sturdy back felt so strong that it made Freya blush while her heart race uncontrollably. The feeling was so overwhelming that Freya felt the need to about something to shift her attention away from him. "Am I heavy?" As she spoke, her warm breath would unintentionally brush across Bradley's earlobe, instantly making his lower abdomen tense up. They were so close that Bradley could smell the faint perfume lingering on her. With the soft sensation plastered across his back, every twitch was undoubtedly challenging his tolerance. Not to mention the warm breath coming from her mouth that was hot enough to send a fire blazing through him. "Not at all. You're too thin. You need to eat more." His voice was very low, seemingly in an attempt to hold back a certain emotion. Freya pursed her lips. His voice was very soothing to listen to. It was even more passionate and moving than the most romantic of love songs. "Let me down. You must be tired from carrying me this far." Bradley had no intention of letter her go, however. He her even tighter to her. "I'm not tired. I can even run around with you on my back." As soon as he said that, he actually started running. Freya let out a gasp in surprise. The arms that were about to let go of his neck were now wrapped even tighter around it. Her long hair danced in the night wind, spread out like strands of seaweed dancing in the water. Some strands of her hair wrapped around his neck, causing her perfume to linger in his nose. "Mr. Adams, please put me down. Ah…" Freya held on tight to him. He was going to fast. She was starting to worry she might fly off at any moment. However, he showed no intention of putting her down as he ran faster and faster with her on his back. Soon, they arrived at the entrance of the Royal Garden Mansion. Frederick was not home yet. Clearly, the car was still stuck in traffic. Freya struggled to get off from his back. Her long hair was sticking to her face due to the wind, and her cheeks were still flushed red with excitement. She smiled at Bradley and said, "Well, I'm home. Thank you for walking me back." Bradley solemnly gazed at her and nodded. "We'll soon meet again." Freya merely smiled and did not reply as she turned to walk into the Royal Garden Mansion. In a flash, Bradley climbed up the wall and was on the second floor before she could. It was currently 10:00 p.m. Freya was about to head to bed when the study room opened to reveal the disguised Bradley. "Why are you back all alone? Where's Frederick?" His deep voice made her heart skipped a beat. For some reason, the sight of him made her feel inexplicably guilty. "The car was stuck in traffic, so I walked home." Freya then limped toward her bedroom. She had only taken a few steps when he called out to her. "Wait!" Freya nervously turned around. She dazedly stared at his cold eyes. The moment their eyes met, her pupils dilated and her heart was skipping uncontrollably. Before she could speak, he asked, "What's wrong with your foot?" "My food?" The sight of his focused eyes made her jaw drop in disbelief. "You can see now!" He did not say a word and simply wheeled closer to her. His large palms reached out and pulled her onto his lap before carrying her into the bedroom. "How did this happen? There are blisters all over, and your feet are swollen. Didn't you feel the pain?" Bradley frowned with concern and distress audible in his voice. Freya gulped in shock. She waved a hand before his eyes. "I have regained my sight. I can see everything now." He then grabbed her hand and imprisoned her in his embrace while his dark eyes scrutinized her. "I never expected my bride to be so beautiful. You're simply gorgeous."
