Chapter 16 Angel From Heaven

Bradley's handsome face was the first thing that anyone saw. "Wow, speak of the devil, and he shall appear. Bradley, we've been waiting for you for ages," Patrick walked up to Bradley and tapped him on the shoulder. Bradley approached the couch, his calm dominance accentuated by the black suit he wore. He picked up the drink and gulped it down without breaking a sweat. Three people who had an unbreakable bond with Bradley were present: Patrick, Xavier Jackson, and Gabriel Rousseau. Patrick was publically known as the general manager of Shangri-La Bar. Xavier was the Jackson family heir and had been interested in medicine since he was a young boy. Bradley credited Xavier with helping him quickly regain his good looks and health. As the head of the internationally renowned Sigelac organization, Gabriel had a unique identity. However, Bradley was the only one in this group who was taken seriously. To the outside world, Patrick was the general manager at Shangri-La Bar, but in fact, it was Bradley who ran things behind the scenes. Despite being Sigelac's leader, Gabriel was subordinate to Bradley. Bradley had quietly built his own economic empire over the years and was already at the top of the global rich list. No one, not even Bradley, knew the true extent of his wealth. He didn't see his wealth as anything more than a collection of abstract numbers, as his entire life's work had been leading up to this moment of vengeance. "Bradley, when do you plan to take action?" Patrick asked as he stared at Bradley's handsome, expressionless face. Bradley focused narrowly and downed the entire glass of red wine. He wiped the corner of his mouth where a drop of wine had landed with his long, rough fingers. "Have you ever seen a cat gulp down the mouse it cached? It's much more enjoyable to keep them alive and witness their suffering. Isn't that more intriguing?" Bradley's voice lacked warmth or empathy. His handsome face seemed to be covered in a thin layer of frost, creating a chilling presence in the otherwise comfortable office environment. "Do as you please. If you need our help, just say the word!" Xavier interjected, suddenly remembering something. He continued, "By the way, I heard that your new wife has some intellectual challenges. Are you certain you want to keep her around?" "Indeed, Bradley, it would be best to handle her the same way you did with your previous three wives and dispose of her directly. After all, she was a gift from Arthur to you. Maybe you should be cautious," Gabriel was merciless and ruthless due to his years of experience as a gangster, which had made him extremely wary of human nature. He had helped Bradley in getting rid of his previous three wives before. "I want to keep her," Bradley replied. Bradley's mind began to conjure up a picture of that lovely girl with her innocent, radiant eyes and graceful figure, and his tone turned serious. "Bradley, are you smitten by her?" Everyone's mouths dropped when they heard Bradley's reply. "This appears to be the case! Please, Bradley, share a photo of your new bride with the rest of us." Patrick joked. The three pairs of eyes remained fixed on Bradley's emotionless face, eagerly anticipating his reaction. Bradley's thin lips curved into a smile as he said, "Not bad," in a cold tone. His new bride possessed an innocent allure, at least in certain aspects, that intrigued him. "Bradley, have you two...you know...had sex yet?" Patrick, known for his audacity, dared to ask. A cup was hurled toward him in a split second, narrowly missing and shattering into pieces. "It seems she hasn't satisfied you fully. No worries, dude. I have planned a special performance just for you today where you can let off steam," Patrick said with a chuckle. Bradley took another cup from the table and began playing with it, his eyes growing cold as he did so. He spoke calmly, "If you brought me here just to spout nonsense, I don't have time to entertain you." After Bradley had finished talking, he got up from the couch and grabbed his car keys. But at that precise moment, a stunning figure popped up on the massive screen opposite him. A girl in a white dress gracefully stepped onto the stage, her face veiled by a sheer veil, resembling a mystical fairy. Patrick stared at the girl on the screen in astonishment, his voice hushed as he exclaimed, "It's her!" He had never anticipated encountering this girl again. The girl, dressed in a beautiful white dress, gracefully made her way onto the stage. Her eyes held a lazy allure reminiscent of a fairy stepping out of a painting, and the veil draped over her face added an intriguing touch of mystery, tempting anyone to uncover her breathtaking beauty. "Patrick, do you know her?" Xavier's voice was filled with curiosity as he watched the girl on the screen. Patrick scratched his nose, unable to tear his gaze away from the enchanting sight. The girl's clear and bright eyes seemed to take his breath away. "I just met her," Patrick said in response. This was the first woman who hadn't been easily swayed by his charms, and he found that intriguing. He had reached out to help her just then, but she had left without even glancing at him. As she moved away, a gentle breeze carried a faint fragrance. Patrick felt a surge of excitement as this was the first time a girl had truly captivated him. On the stage, with Freya's appearance, the once raucous nightclub fell into a hushed silence. The spotlight illuminated Freya's face, causing her veil to dance in the night breeze. Her features could be made out dimly from behind the veil. Everyone in the crowd could confirm that she was a beauty. Freya simply stood there, a glow emanating from her, and her gentle demeanor made her look like a divine white rose. The quiet nightclub erupted with whistles and applause. "Isn't this Madeline's performance? Where did this angle come from?" The whistles kept going, drowning out other noises. . Freya gracefully danced with the music filling the air, perfectly following the rhythm. Her white dress billowed out like a pure white flower when she spun, and her bell-shaped sleeves danced in the breeze. While Patrick admired the girl's dance, he stole a glance at Bradley beside him. To his surprise, Bradley was also glued to the screen, his narrow eyes flickering with an unfamiliar light that Patrick couldn't decipher. Bradley watched the girl on the screen with an intense fixation. He found her clear, flawless eyes somewhat familiar as if she resembled a woman he had encountered before. Perhaps it was this strange sense of recognition that caused Bradley to withdraw his hands from the car keys and instead stare vacantly into the girl's eyes. Bradley had never shown any interest in women before, so Patrick couldn't fathom what had changed, and his curiosity about her only grew stronger. Unable to resist, Patrick picked up his phone from the coffee table and dialed a number. "Good evening, Mr. Perry." "Who is the girl currently performing?" Patrick's gaze remained fixed on the screen, his astonishment mounting with each passing moment. Well, it's difficult to explain. Madeline was supposed to perform, but she got hurt in rehearsal, so she asked her friend to take her place." "Do you know her name?" Patrick furrowed his brow thoughtfully. "Sorry, Madeline doesn't want to disclose her friend's name." At the crescendo of the dance, the girl took the microphone and began to sing. Her crystal-clear singing voice was more alluring than her graceful dancing.
