CHAPTER FIFTY NINE - FINDING BALANCE
Later that evening, Anna found herself in the library, her mind still reeling from the events of the day. She was so lost in thought that she didn't hear Erik enter until he spoke.
"That was quite a speech you gave."
Anna turned, offering him a small smile. "I'm sorry if I overstepped. I just... I couldn't stay silent."
Erik shook his head, moving to stand beside her. "You have nothing to apologize for. You handled yourself admirably. I'm proud of you, Anna."
The warmth in his voice made Anna's heart skip a beat. She looked up at him, suddenly very aware of how close they were standing. "Thank you for supporting me. For giving me a chance to be part of this world."
Erik's gaze softened as he reached out to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. "You've become an important part of this pack, Anna. Of my life."
The air between them seemed to crackle with tension. Anna found herself leaning in, drawn by the intensity in Erik's eyes. For a moment, it seemed as though he might kiss her
