Chapter 9
The Oscar standing before me now was nothing like the person he used to be.
At a glance, he looked like the classic delinquent. His hair was dyed blue, a tattoo snaked around his neck, and even his lower lip was pierced.
It was hard to believe that this was once the most handsome guy in school.
He sauntered in, humming a tune, his demeanor relaxed and carefree. His eyes still carried a lingering trace of delight, so I guessed he had just returned from a date.
The moment he saw me, he paused for a second. Then, he pulled his hands out of his pockets and tried to look serious. However, he quickly snapped out of it. With a smirk, he shoved one hand back into his jeans pocket.
"Oh, you're back? How's your arm? You must be doing fine after all that money spent, right? Think you'll be able to take the SATs this year? If you can't, don't come crying to me."
