Chapter 11
I knew my parents meant well and gladly accepted their kindness.
With that thought, I walked into the exam hall with confidence. Just before stepping inside, I turned around and saw Oscar standing behind me.
I had no idea what was going through his mind at that moment. Did he regret his decision to give up a year ago?
Still, I had no intention of asking.
Having experience from two lifetimes, I confidently entered the exam hall. Looking at the familiar test questions, I took a deep breath and picked up my pen.
One exam after another passed. On the very last one, my right arm finally gave out. A sharp, unbearable pain shot through me. My fingers lost their strength and trembled uncontrollably.
Clenching my teeth, I immediately asked the teacher for an ice pack and switched to writing with my left hand. Finally, I finished the last question with just seconds left before time was up.
As I handed in my paper, I exhaled deeply, feeling immense relief.
