Fortunately, Sam was just a little pale. His wounds were not infected or anything.
As expected of a special forces soldier, his constitution was impressive.
She was worried that Sam would starve to death, so Irene gave him a nutritional shot and changed his wound dressing. She then found a thin blanket somehow and haphazardly draped it over his stomach.
She had had enough of fighting and violence for now, so she did not go to the gym. Instead, she turned around and headed back to her bedroom.
Goldie followed shakily. Its right hind leg, secured by the wooden plank, was still a little difficult to pull around. Fortunately, it could still keep up with Irene's pace at a hobble.
Back in her bedroom, Irene switched on the light before picking Goldie up and giving it another hard rub.
