After much thought, Irene decided to leave Sam on the seventh floor. She did not know Sam that well. Eighteen-year-old Irene might have been smitten by his looks and taken him in, but she was twenty-three and past that now. Since Jenny and Paulette were both about to move to the ninth floor, that meant the seventh floor would be left empty. Sam could stay here and recuperate.
