CHAPTER HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN SCARS FROM THE PAST
JADE’S POV
Despite sitting there for a while like a disapproving housewife, my interest in the book is beginning to grow. In reading, I had to distract myself from thinking about him or what he was up to; it was slowly driving me mad, and that wasn't good for me. I started to feel a little dopey from being awake by this time since I wasn’t used to it, but thankfully, the caffeine in my system was fighting back and winning the struggle for dominance.
When the cool breeze begins to bother me, I raise the blanket slightly higher, and I sigh whenever a major character in the book does something foolish. The worst part is that it is all for nothing in the end. I close my eyes to rest a bit when I hear a click, and my eyes snap open to watch him as he calmly walks in. He freezes when he sees me lying on the couch with a look that tells me he's not sure of what he's seeing, but he's walking up to me the next second, so I sit up.
“What are you doing up?” He whispers like he’ll disturb
