“But that's how it felt,” I confess, unconsciously rubbing my arm again, and I stop when I realize what I'm doing. I shouldn't be hurting myself irrespective of how I feel or what happened; I get that now. He pulls me forward to rest on his chest, and I close my eyes, relaxing and breathing in his scent. “Of course I want you; I always do. I just didn't want you to regret doing anything last night. I left because it became increasingly difficult for me to maintain self-control; there was no other reason, so please do not shed any tears; it is entirely my fault. You wouldn't feel like this if I were clear with you,” he whispers gently into my ears, rubbing my back and it makes my body tingle.
