Chapter 4 Adri Doesn't Want to Acknowledge My Existence

My body gradually turned from numbness to a pain like being stuck by pins and needles. The body temperature was rising, and I could even feel my blood seem to be boiling up. "Kasha, today is the full moon and you are about to become a real wolf for the first time. Although this will make you feel painful, it is something you must experience. Find a place where no one is around and you have to take off all your clothes." Bella reminded me. I didn't expect that the first shift would come so suddenly, and I wasn't ready for it. Intense pains spread from my heart to my limbs, and with each point they extended, my body seemed to be hit hard. My body trembled from the pain and I tried to struggle, but the pain hit me even more intensely. "No, Kasha, you can't struggle, it will only hurt more, try to accept the power and merge with it, feel it." Bella was guiding me. I collapsed to the ground in pain, wishing this could hurry up and end, I could barely breathe. I closed my eyes in despair until my body was free of pain. When I opened my eyes again, my hands had been replaced by sharp wolf claws, and silvery-white fur covered my whole body. "Kasha, you did it! Try to stand up." Bella looked excited. I stood up as she said, and the sound in my ears seemed to become so loud that the sound of the distant stream could be heard very clearly. Even though there was darkness around me now, all objects could be seen clearly to my eyes. "Bella, do you know what it's like to chase the wind?" I asked. Before Bella had a chance to answer my question, I was already dashing out. Everything around me was flying backwards, I couldn't even see them, the wind was whistling in my ears. In the dark, I could run as much as I wanted. I didn't know how far I ran, but a river blocked my way and I had to stop and take a big breath of air. I went up to the river and tried to see what I looked like at the point by the moonlight. Reflected by the river, I could clearly see my silver-white fur and eyes as blue as the lake. That's who I was at the point. "Kasha, you're beautiful." Bella praised. I was happy with Bella's praise for just a moment, followed by frustration that even though I was really pretty, I was still a useless person to my mate Adri. It even made him reluctant to admit that I was the one who was guided by the moon goddess. Suddenly, I caught a strange scent that seemed to be tinged with hostility. I looked up ahead and two gray wolves were walking toward me, ready to tear me apart. "What do you want?" I questioned, staring at them. But they didn't answer me and still kept approaching me. Even the little river in front of me didn't stop them from approaching me. What did they want to do? Were they going to kill me? I thought in my mind, but could I outrun them? As I was thinking about it, a familiar smell came to me. I looked back and it was a brown wolf that was coming my way, but it looked in the direction of the two wolves and showed its fangs. I followed its example and showed my own teeth. "Don't point your teeth at me!" A voice in my head scolded me. It's Adri! That wolf was actually Adri? How did he do it? Mind reading? I was puzzled, and numerous question marks appeared in my mind. "Get out of the way if you don't want to die!" Adri snarled at the two wolves. The two wolves also seemed to be afraid of Adri, looked at me, turned and ran away, and soon disappeared. "Thank you." I said to Adri. "No need to thank me. I just don't want to see a dumbass become a meal for two wolves on his first shift." Adri still chose to ignore me, and spoke in a cold tone. He refused twice and humiliated me. Why did he save me when in his mind I was a useless werewolf? "I'll get out of here." I said to Adri. Because of Adri's rejection, the wolves in the pack could no longer accept me either; I was a disgrace to them, and Takri would not allow me to stay in the pack. "Listen, the Alpha is the only one who is qualified to expel other wolves or allow you to leave your current pack. Otherwise, you will only be a rouge, and no wolf pack will accept you." Adri said seriously. "What the hell do you want to do? You've rejected me and I should stay away from you, it's the best outcome for you and me isn't it?" Anger erupted in me. Was I to stay and be ridiculed by others? "I didn't actually reject you, but I didn't want to acknowledge your presence either. Anyway, just stay in your wolf pack." Adri finished and left straight away. "What good is this going to do you?" I shouted in my mind to Adri. "The first time you shift, don't approach other wolves, otherwise, you won't be able to save your life." This was the last thing Adri said to me. As him walked away, I could no longer hear his voice. I returned alone to where I had just been. I didn't want to go home naked after the shift was over. For other wolves, it didn't make much difference whether they wore clothes or not, but I couldn't accept myself like that. Bella also taught me how to undo the shift. Turning human again, I realized that my strength was overwhelmed and collapsed to the ground, and my eyelids were too heavy to lift. "Kasha, this is your first shift, so it's extremely consuming your stamina, plus you just used the mind link to talk to another wolf, that's why you're feeling extra tired." Bella gently explained to me. That didn't matter, I just wanted to be able to lie in my bed and get a good night's sleep for instance. After resting for a while, I got dressed and went home, so it was good to know that it was not far from home. When I got home, Tina was already asleep. I was thankful that at least she wouldn't have to come back and question me about what happened today. The moment I lay down on the bed, I completely relaxed. I was so tired that I fell into a deep sleep on my bed. When I woke up, Tina was sitting beside me watching me. Her gaze was very gentle and she stroked my head with her hand. "Hey, honey, I bet you had done a shift, right? You must have a beautiful wolf." Tina asked me with a smile. "Yes, she's beautiful, but I'm not very good at controlling it yet, so I can't show you right now." My strength still hadn't fully recovered, even though I'd slept from last night until almost noon. "It's okay to see it next time. It's a good thing that you're grown up and have your own wolf already, and your father will be happy for you." Tina said with a smile still. I shrugged, even if he was happy for me, he was no longer there. I, on the other hand, was rejected twice by Adri, on the day of my coming-of-age ceremony and the day after. This made me feel extraordinarily frustrated. It's not a good feeling to be rejected by my mate, and I still get a pang when I think of how cold he was. Maybe he's right, I had no way to give him a boost, he didn't need such an ordinary me as an Alpha. "Kasha, there's someone outside to see you." Takri knocked on the door and then pushed it open and stood in the doorway with a serious expression on his face and said to me.
