Fred kicked the woman, who turned out to be Mrs. York. His vicious action sent her flying. "You worthless bitch." I watched helplessly as she fell to the ground like a withered leaf and let out a low groan of pain. She rolled several times and blocked the path of the other man. "Useless! Just like whatever she produced." He stomped his foot on her face as if he were crushing an empty can. Under the moonlight, his cold gaze was devoid of any humanity. My nails dug deep into my palms as I trembled uncontrollably. I gazed at Darren, who shook his head at me. He silently mouthed the words, "Wait for the others." I knew he wanted me to wait for my colleagues' arrival, but how long would that take? Frowning, I didn't dare look at the horrific scene in front of me. I was in despair.
