Chapter 2 Interest in Romance?

Mrs. Norma joyfully instructed the butler, "Quickly, please bring her in." Soon, a girl in a white dress, led by the butler, gently entered. Candice Dupuis's voice was soft, her smile sweet, "Good morning, Mr. Bonnie, Mrs. Norma." Mrs. Norma smiled warmly, "It's Candice, indeed. You're becoming more and more beautiful. If only Leah could be as obedient as you." Amelia Bonnie is Mrs. Norma's daughter, and she's desperate to marry Griffin instead of Haichin. "Not at all. Amelia is our role model. Many say that marrying Leah would be a stroke of luck!" Mrs. Norma proudly glanced at Aberleis. "You girls must have much to chat about. Haichin, you must entertain Candice well." Haichin had no interest in their insincere flattery. She couldn't understand how, with their characters, she ended up with the chance to marry into the Cocaine family. Seeing Haichin silent, Aberleis didn't say anything further, just gave her a warning look. Haichin led Candice back to her room. Her room was filled with rows of dresses, all prepared for the engagement banquet. Candice looked at them with jealousy in her eyes. Suddenly, Haichin grabbed her hand, "Candice, tell me the truth." Candice puzzled, "What's wrong?" Haichin worriedly said, "Has Griffin fallen for someone else?" "How could that be!" Candice avoided eye contact. "It's all my fault. Maybe it's because of the impending engagement; I'm so anxious." Haichin pretended to worry, continuing, "Mrs. Belinda said it's pre-wedding jitters and told me not to worry. She said I should relax. In his heart, besides me, no one else can be Griffin's wife..." Hearing this, Candice felt even more resentful. Mrs. Belinda is Griffin's mother, who never liked the Dupuis family, so she didn't have any goodwill toward Candice either. Haichin noticed Candice's tightly clenched hand and continued, "Let's not talk about that. Let's talk about something cheerful!" She leaned in mysteriously, "Do you know, last night, Leah told me she met an interesting person at the party but refused to tell me who. It's a shame; you know how Leah is. She doesn't settle for just any man." Candice's heart tightened. She couldn't help but think of last night when Griffin secretly answered a call and hurriedly left. By the time she followed, all she saw was a mysterious figure, definitely a woman. Could it be Amelia Bonnie? Thinking about this, she asked a few more questions and left in a hurry. Haichin couldn't help but find it amusing. Let them fight each other; it's best if this marriage is ruined. The Cocaine family is nothing but trouble, and she didn't want to get involved as cannon fodder! The most important thing now is to find out who's behind the scenes. Was the spiked drink last night meant for her or just a careless mistake?! Haichin clenched her teeth secretly, as for that man... Thankfully, she changed her appearance last night. Hopefully, he won't recognize her next time, or she's in big trouble. What Haichin didn't know was that while she was silently praying, Isaac was pondering the same thing. "The guest list has been checked, no suspicious individuals, and the phone number left by that girl... is a psychiatrist from a mental hospital..." Henna stood across from Isaac, saying something in his ear. Isaac raised his eyebrows, "Are you sure?" "Wearing men's clothing, but your subordinate wouldn't make a mistake." Henna whispered. Isaac took off his glasses, tapping his fingers lightly on the table, "Tell them to clear the bathroom." Haichin was hiding in the bathroom at that moment, stuffing a USB drive into her pocket, satisfied with her search on the open phone. Then she found Leah's profile, sent a flirtatious text, and even sent a location, a five-star hotel upstairs. Then she dialed Candice's number. She cleared her throat, waiting for the call to be answered, "Ah... Griffin, Griffin... don't touch me here... ah... I can't take it... mmm... don't be so forceful..." She was acting out the scene, not expecting the bathroom stall to be knocked on. Panic-stricken, Haichin hung up the phone, sent a location, and opened the door, apologizing, "Sorry, sorry, just a little... playful... forgive me..." Haichin looked at the grim figure at the door, shivering in fear, trying to close the door quickly. Henna reached out to stop her. Struggling, Haichin dropped her phone, which slid to Isaac's feet. Isaac's voice was still cold, "Playful?"
