Chapter 11 Drugged
the Johnson watched Megan with anxiety, their eyes cautionary.
Emily preempted, "Myles, Kane had a little too much to drink. He bumped his head by accident. It's nothing serious."
Myles wasn't naive and didn't believe a word.
He turned to Megan, his rotund face wreathed in smiles, "Don't be afraid to tell me. If he has bullied you, I'll avenge you."
As he spoke, he inched closer to Megan.
Megan forcefully placed the wine bottle on the table.
It shattered and the wine spilled all over the ground.
"Myles, my apologies. I wasn't mindful of my strength."
Instinctively, Myles retracted his hand.
Myles was captivated by her.
A fiery vixen who appeared delicate yet had a blazing temperament. He likes.
Docile women were as lifeless as dead fish—uninteresting.
"It's alright."
Megan tossed the broken bottle away, her smile enchanting and mesmerizing.
"I'm not fond of alcohol, Myles. Let's talk about what just happened."
She swiftly turned the conversation to her advantage.
Myles, quite pleased with Megan, readily played along, "I'm all ears."
Emily was worried Megan would quote Kane's indecent remarks.
Just as she was about to intervene, a warning glance from Myles silenced her.
Megan, savoring the trio's discomfort, parted her lips to speak.
"Actually, it's a trivial matter. Kane claimed his skull was tough and I decided to test it."
At her word, Myles lifted a bottle and slammed it onto Kane's head.
The weighty bottle was undamaged, while Kane's head streamed with blood.
Emily's heart was in terror, "Myles, what are you doing?"
"I was just testing."
He was aware Kane was struck by Megan but delighted to make his bride happy.
Emily swallowed her outrage, "Myles, Kane can't join you for a drink. He needs the hospital."
"Go then. "
Emily instructed Sophie, "Be the host, I shall return shortly."
"OK."
Once Emily and Kane departed, Sophie said, "Myles, please order freely."
Myles was amiable towards beautiful women, "Don't steal my words. I will treat tonight, ladies."
"Megan, you decide."
"What would you like, Megan?"
Megan poured a glass of wine for Myles, "Before ordering, I'd like to offer some feedback on the bar."
Sophie instantly sensed an ominous vibe.
Myles's brow quirked, his flesh jiggling, "Please say."
"When I arrived, a man harassed me. Is this a common occurrence in your bar?"
Myles had yet to respond when Sophie interjected, "Megan, it's commonplace in bars for drunkards to bother attractive women. There's no need to exaggerate."
She must prevent Myles from probing into the man's identity, which would expose her scheme.
"Megan is a valued guest. If she encountered harassment on my grounds, I owe her an explanation," Myles countered.
"Megan, you shouldn't bother Myles with this trivial trouble," Sophie coaxed.
"It's no trouble at all,"
Myles replied, dialing his manager to track down the man who harassed Megan and bring him over.
Flustered, Sophie excused herself to the restroom.
-
She had to warn the man to hide.
Myles, misunderstanding her departure as creating privacy for him and Megan, ogled the desirable woman beside him.
"Megan, let me gift you a villa. You'll adore it."
He assumed Megan, having agreed to marry him, would have sex with him.
She can get a villa by sleeping with him before marriage, so why not?
Megan declined coldly, "I'm traditional and i don't want your money."
"Are you certain? It's an exquisite villa worth over two million."
As he spoke, Emily and Sophie re-entered, mouths agape.
-
To their astonishment, Myles was lavishing Megan with such generosity, ready to gift a two-million villa upon first meeting.
Clearly, they should ask for more than one million!
With a smile, Emily remarked, "Myles, you must help our company so we can marry Megan off in glory."
"Rest assured, I'll assist Johnson Holdings through these challenging times."
"Thank you, Myles."
Emily and Sophie heaped praises on Megan, while Myles broadly outlined his backgrounds.
Megan seemed an outsider, eavesdropping on the chatter of three.
Emily had noted the time and gave her daughter a look.
Sophie spoke, "Myles, we must visit grandmother now. Enjoy your time with Megan."
After these words, she poured two glasses of Brandy, one for herself, one for Megan.
Megan, aware of the Brandy drugged, protested, "I am not fond of Brandy, whisky please."
She swiftly switched the two glasses.
Myles sat beside Megan, witnessing her sleight of hand, yet he did not expose her.
Of course, Megan had meant for Myles to witness the act.
All Myles's suspicions would lead to Emily and Sophie.
After the toast, Megan and Sophie were out.
Emily stayed to discuss the salvation of the Johnson's business with Myles.
Sophie pulled Megan into the adjacent private room.
"Sit here and wait. We must discuss," she declared, intentionally prolonging the interaction as she awaited the drug's effect.
-
When the time came, even if Megan was reluctant to sleep with Harry, she would throw herself into his arms!
Watching the flushed, yet oblivious Sophie, Megan nodded in agreement.
"Alright, I'll wait."
"I need to go to the washroom."
Sophie felt dizzy as she rose but thought little of it.
Once outside, she called Harry.
"Everything is set. This is her first time, so the cost of 50,000 for a night is a fair price. Enjoy your night, Harry."
Sophie shook her sluggish head, smiling as she returned to the private room.
Unbeknownst to her, her every word had been overheard by Oliver.
Oliver immediately reported back to Joseph.
"Harry has just exited the elevator and is about to enter the room. What should we do now?"
