Chapter 7 This Man, I Want Him!

In the car, MacIntyre closed his eyes to rest. Healing James had drained his energy significantly, and being new to the Initial Ascension level, he wasn’t yet accustomed to such power consumption. He looked visibly exhausted. Enos watched MacIntyre quietly, her face reflecting a hint of admiration. Heatonmon had three children. His eldest son, Holton, had no interest in business but was obsessed with power. After graduating, he used family connections to become a government official in Green Oasis City. Enos, Holton's sister, had perfectly inherited her father's business acumen. She took over the Disimon Group at a young age and quickly propelled it to the top of the domestic rankings, making it the most powerful company in Starburg City. This made Heatonmon very proud and confident in her, allowing him to retire and enjoy a peaceful life. As for the youngest daughter, Tia, she lacked her siblings' talents. Obsessed with strength, she trained to become the strongest female warrior, visiting mentors across various fields. It was said that one of the top mages in Starburg City, Vanas, was her master. Despite their impressive backgrounds, they were nothing special in MacIntyre's eyes. Enos initially stayed silent, but seeing MacIntyre’s glances her way, she let out a charming laugh. After all, being a beauty on par with Marissa was no exaggeration, and no man could resist a few more looks. “Mr. MacIntyre, you’re truly impressive. To possess such power at a young age is admirable,” Enos remarked. MacIntyre snapped back to reality, taking a deep breath filled with Enos's fragrance. “It’s nothing special.” MacIntyre, having grown up in a privileged environment, was well-versed in many things. If not for the sisters' betrayal, he might have held a status similar to Enos. “You’re too humble. I admire your strength and sincerity,” Enos said, tilting her head slightly, exposing her fair, graceful neck, which made MacIntyre quickly avert his gaze. “Thank you.” “No, I should be thanking you. Without you, my family might have faced disaster.” Their conversation, though awkward, was better than silence. After an hour, the car arrived at a grand estate. MacIntyre recognized it as the Marriott Estate in Starburg City, a vast natural park and a paradise for the wealthy. Getting out of the car, MacIntyre was stunned. Compared to his own estate, this was on another level. Enos had several boxes brought out. “Mr. MacIntyre, here’s the agreed forty pounds of gold and five million in cash.” MacIntyre didn’t hesitate, giving the boxes a cursory glance before having them collected. He couldn’t afford to be picky as he had nothing left. “Honest as promised. I won’t be polite then.” At this moment, Tia approached, head down, biting her lip, looking deeply aggrieved. “I was wrong. I shouldn’t have spoken to you like that.” MacIntyre was taken aback. What was happening? Despite her youth, Tia admired strength and couldn't deny MacIntyre’s prowess after he saved James. Seeing her father and Enos’s respect for MacIntyre, she came to make peace, even wanting him as her master. After all, defeating a Level 3 Assassin with one move was beyond impressive. MacIntyre couldn’t help but chuckle but said nothing. In his eyes, Tia and Selena were alike: spoiled, selfish, and easily irksome. MacIntyre preferred Tia's confrontational attitude over her current submissive one. “Mr. MacIntyre, I’ve heard about your situation. Since you can’t return to your estate, why not stay with us? It’s not a palace, but you’ll have no worries about food or care. Would you consider it?” “Oh, my home is in Cadingburg!” This estate was just their vacation spot; they lived in the even more luxurious Cadingburg. It wasn’t a small place. Rumor had it that just to enter, one needed a ticket costing two million per person, not including other expenses. Altogether, it could cost millions just to set foot in Cadingburg! MacIntyre, initially thinking of leaving with the gold, hesitated. He had lived there before. “Well, that’s quite an offer. I’ll consider it rent. I’ll pay; you won’t lose out.” To seek revenge, MacIntyre needed a place to stay, and this seemed fitting for his status. “Whatever you prefer. Let’s go!” Enos personally led MacIntyre, showing her high regard for him. Upon entering Cadingburg, the car drove to the innermost part of the estate. “Why live so far?” Enos smiled. “I wanted you to see the options. We can stop whenever you like one.” MacIntyre was surprised, realizing all the houses were hers. He had underestimated her. “Here!” MacIntyre suddenly pointed eagerly. The car stopped. Enos frowned at the faded exterior. “Are you sure? It’s old. Why not choose another?” “No, I want this one. Is that okay?” Though puzzled by his choice among many beautiful villas, Enos quickly understood. It might have been MacIntyre’s former home. After his father’s death, he never returned, even forgetting about this villa in his quest to maintain the estate. Now, it seemed his father’s spirit had led him back. Inside, everything was as MacIntyre left it, just a bit dusty. MacIntyre touched his childhood toys. “How did this house end up with you?” “Don’t misunderstand. Marissa gave it to me, needing our Disimon Group’s support for her wine business. Otherwise, she couldn’t have become a high society lady so quickly.” “Marissa…” MacIntyre rolled his eyes at the mention of her name. “Mr. MacIntyre, may I ask why you and Marissa are so hostile? She’s your stepmother, right?” “Rubbish. She’s a vile woman, business-savvy but deserving of hell for her deeds against me!” MacIntyre grew more agitated, fists clenched. Enos stepped back, overwhelmed by MacIntyre’s powerful presence, feeling a fear she had never experienced before. “Mr. MacIntyre, you’re right. Marissa is a top-notch businesswoman but a failure as a family member.” “If she’s harmed you, rest assured you’re safe here. No one will disturb you.” Enos quickly weighed her options. If she had to choose between MacIntyre and Marissa, she’d pick MacIntyre without hesitation. She could sever all business ties with Marissa and use her influence to crush Gomez Estate’s enterprises.
