Chapter 9
Turning, he began walking in the direction of his car, intent of catching up with the car Ivory had just left in and getting much deserved answers.
But before he could reach his car, Evangeline’s voice reached his ears.
“Reel, are you leaving?” She had rushed out of the house after him and had witnessed his glaring contest with the car.
Now that she saw him leaving, obviously about to chase after Ivory, she began to panic.
“I have something to attend to, Eva. Get back inside the house and stay with your parents.” He instructed, not even glancing her way.
This fueled Evangeline’s panic even more and as a last resort, she turned to the only thing she was sure would work on Gadreel.
“Ah,” Grabbing her chest, she feigned hurt, pretending like her heart had began acting up again. “It hurts…I can’t breathe.”
The act worked perfectly, having Gadreel turning around immediately and rushing to her side.
