CHAPTER 48: LYING FACADE
Talia's POV
"I'm not his Luna." I said under my breath, which was useless since they have improved hearing. I might as well have said it out loud.
My eyes were fixed on my plate through the rest of the conversation, and I was called Luna when I hadn’t struck a chord, I did not know I had. It was like a reminder of what I was promised but didn't get.
Zane and I were taken to a room; Nell assumed we slept in the same room and picked one for us to share.
I sat on the bed and stared into the nothingness of my thoughts. Zane shared a room with Reina.
"What is the matter?" I heard his voice, and my head lifted to face him.
"Nothing." There is nothing to worry about right now, at least. We had children who were probably scared and worried.
"Talia, what is it?" The way he called my name with so much care, I could not help but give in and tell him.
"Why did you let me leave?" I let out hurt and pain. I understood what was happening, but still, my heart was hurt and in pieces.
