Chapter 12

"Alison Harrington!" Estelle's eyes were quickly filled with a scarlet rage. She had compromised so much. Why did Alison still want to hurt Aurora, the one she cared about the most? But Alison didn't seem scared at all. Instead, she smiled gleefully. "Are you angry? But didn't I speak the truth? Even your brothers and dad think it was you who caused your mom's death, and I…" She smirked, her smile carrying a cryptic meaning. Estelle suddenly felt a chill down her spine. The cheerful look in Alison's eyes made her uncomfortable. As the recipient of her parents' support, why would Alison want Aurora dead so badly? Estelle shuddered at the thought. "Is my mom's death related to you?" As soon as she spoke, she second-guessed herself. "No, you were still so young back then." Perhaps some people were just born evil. As Alison saw Estelle being driven to the brink of madness, her smile grew even more triumphant. When she heard Alison laughing, Estelle quickly calmed herself down. She met Alison's smiling eyes calmly. "Are you here because Dillon ignored you?" In an instant, the smile on Alison's face vanished. It seemed she was right. Estelle lowered her gaze and continued to organize the remaining design sketches, casting a casual glance at the doorway. Wayne, who had been eavesdropping, froze when their eyes met. He quickly lowered his head and hurried downstairs. Once he was gone, Estelle smiled again. "It seems like you're feeling guilty. You got something that doesn't belong to you through underhanded means, and now you're insecure, worried you won't be able to hold onto it, right?" "Shut up!" Alison's face twisted in fury. She clenched her fists tightly, gritting her teeth. "Don't try to sow discord between me and them. You're the one who's been abandoned." Estelle shrugged dismissively. "I don't care." Alison's hatred grew more evident when she saw her calm demeanor. But Estelle couldn't help but find her actions pathetic. She used to envy Alison, who could easily get whatever she wanted. But now that she no longer wanted anything, she understood that Alison was the one who was insecure. Taking a step forward, she moved closer to Alison. Alison immediately tensed. "What do you want?" Estelle lowered her gaze to Alison's belly and spoke in a low, cold voice, "Stop bothering me, or I'll retaliate. After all, aren't I going to die soon?" Alison immediately took several steps back. No, she couldn't stand seeing Estelle being so smug! Then, an idea seemed to occur to her, and she smiled again. "Who told you I'm insecure? You've been missing for so many days, and Dillon hasn't come looking for you. Do you want to hear what he thinks about your disappearance?" Hearing Dillon's name sent a sharp pain to Estelle's chest. Seeing the pain in her eyes, Alison finally smiled. She took out her phone and dialed Dillon's number. Unlike her previous calls, which had gone unanswered, this one was picked up after only three rings. "Alison, what's up?" Hearing Dillon's gentle voice, Estelle lowered her head, and her eyes were dull with sorrow. She gripped the corner of her desk tightly, clenching it with all her strength. Alison smirked, casting a glance at Estelle. "I heard Estelle's missing. Dillon, have you found her?" Dillon's voice became colder. "So what if she's missing? There's no need to look for her." "But isn't that bad? After all, she's your wife. How about looking for her a little more?" "No need," Dillon turned down again. His response pleased Alison, and Estelle's pale face made her smile with delight. "Dillon, I'm watching a clown right now. I'll talk to you later." After hanging up, she raised an eyebrow, clearly smug. "How's that? I told you Dillon only has me in his heart. My dear sister, even if you die here, Dillon won't feel a thing." Estelle closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and quickly composed herself. The pain in her stomach made her too sick to dwell on her heartbreak, but she forced herself to regain control. Alison shot her a vicious glare before storming out in a huff. Hearing her footsteps fade, Estelle finally lost all strength, collapsing onto the floor. The words Dillon had just spoken still echoed in her mind, refusing to fade away. She had gone missing, and he hadn't even bothered to search for her. At the very least, for the sake of the Waverly family's reputation, he should have pretended to care and searched for her. Had he really come to despise her this much? After Alison went downstairs, she whispered something to Wayne, whose expression became tense. She then handed him a card. "You know what to do. I'm sure you wouldn't want my father to personally teach you how to handle things, would you?" Wayne's face immediately changed when he heard Bobby's name. … Later that day, Estelle, having uploaded and saved all her blueprints, suddenly felt an intense pain in her stomach. Gradually, the pain grew more intense. She knocked everything off the table and slumped helplessly off the chair. It hurt so much! Although she'd been experiencing stomach pain on and off these past few days, it had never been this excruciating. It felt as if she might die any second. Then, a strong smell of blood filled the air. She reached down to touch the wetness between her legs, lifting her hand to look at it. Blood. She looked down at her clothes, and sure enough, her pants were stained red. A maid's scream came from the door. She painfully raised her hand, reaching toward her. "Help me..." The maid rushed over, looking helplessly at the blood-soaked area. "Ms. Sawford, how could this happen?" Estelle grabbed her wrist and said in a hoarse voice, "Call an ambulance." The maid shook her head with teary eyes. "Mr. Sawford told us not to contact the outside without his permission." Estelle's head spun when she heard that. Timothy must have been trying to prevent her from escaping by using external help. She sneered. As if she could escape in her current state! After a moment, her mind cleared up. "Call Timothy." Only then did the maid react, quickly dialing Timothy's number. Soon, his impatient voice came from the other end, "What's going on?" The maid glanced at Estelle. "Mr. Sawford, Ms. Sawford is in trouble. She's bleeding. You need to send an ambulance right away." "Wait!" Timothy hung up the phone in a hurry. An hour later, Timothy and Alison arrived at the villa together. His cold gaze swept over the maid and then turned to Estelle, who was clutching her stomach and struggling against the pain. "You're quite the actress." Actress? Estelle lifted her head, meeting Timothy's disgusted eyes, and smiled. The pain in her heart felt worse than the pain in her stomach, so numbing that it seemed unbearable. Timothy suddenly looked away. For a brief moment, he actually considered showing some concern for the woman who had caused Aurora's death. "Timothy, I'll stay here and take care of Estelle," Alison spoke up.
